Whats Up Gaymers; i touched up vcr's ref for better clarity and information. ive had it happen a few times now that people have mistaken vcr for being a raptor instead of a dilophosaurus? hopefully the emphasis will clear things up for people. or not, i cant expect everyone to be Dino Experts all the time lolso with help from my pal orcafall @ twitter i finally got around to working out this fella after a long while :Ic its basically a counterpart for my persona wolfe, using a dilophosaurus. this dinosaur has a really close place to my heart as a personal thing, and i really wanted something to represent that. bel colored a sketch they did of a dilo for me with my direction and i basically went from there on my own
mmmaybe not the best ref sheet layout ive done, i have others im more fond of and feel are more successful, but the art is solid enough for me at least so im satisfied

aaaaaaaaa you actually replied, sorry i just get really excited when artists i like notice my comments. but yeah dinosaur designs are either over the top or just bland and its nice to see one thats reasonably accurate and has a cool aesthetic, keep up the good work i love it ^>^

same i find dinosaurs (especially therapods) absolutley gorgeous, ive just been wondering what VCR would look like with feathers, dilophosaurus isnt confirmed to have had feathers though just an interesting thought

For me, I fell in love in the first Jurassic Park movie. They act so cute and their little trills and squeaks are equally cute. I'm not a fan of their... fan but I'm glad that's not an actual thing. They just look sooo cute man I'm glad to find a fellow dilo lover! c:

ahah, for me i learned abt them before i knew jurassic park was a thing! i was always really bookish and interested in dinosaurs as a kid so when i learned abt a species that was discovered in the state i was born in by the tribe i belong to, its been really connective for me :'v i lov them theyre Good

I actually realized a really cool way to do a fursuit head of this using resin and thermal sensitive paint! The solar colordust company makes paints sensitive to heat and light that could really give a rad glitched effect depending on how you applied ot to a resin mask!
I'm having a Raptor made with a mood ring style heat sensitive face, so I thought I'd pass along the idea.

yep! its hardly uncommon either, many species we know of are only from the most partial of evidence. some are even just known from the barest of fragments like a handful of teeth or a partial femur. andrewsarchus is a lot like kaprosuchus in that it too is known only from a cranial specimen. we dont even have andrewsarchus' lower jaw, just the skull portion.

Studies in the early 2000s represent a wolf-type mammalian creature, even though now Andrewsarchus is depicted as a boar. I like the wolf idea better, but we can't argue with scientific evidence. Like how they say some sauri may have possessed feathers. ))Sorry if I'm bothering you with my conversation, I just love talking about things like this. It's hard to find someone with this kind of knowledge to talk with about scientific opinions, you know?

yea def, weve known for a long time that andrewsarchus is most likely an ungulate, but people do rather like the wolf look for it. i would love if we found more skeletal evidence of the animal, and more accurate reconstructions. boar are pretty fearsome animals, i dont think people give them that credit enough!
also its fine!!! tbh i understand that eagerness when you Do find someone who shares a similar passion in subjects youre interested in. plus also mine autistic baby ass literally cant unfocus from paleobiology even if i tried lmao

On an unrelated whatever, do you have any interesting theories? This most likely isn't the case for spinosaurus, but it just crossed my mind... What if the bones on their spines stuck out of their skin and they rubbed them together to communicate like ants do with their bodies? Like I said, I highly doubt that's the truth, but I just like to go out on a limb sometimes.

yea i have ASD, late diagnosis but its always been there hah
it feels pretty far fetched, considering the spines were rigid on the vertebra, such a large animal probably wouldnt have had the flexibility to move in a way to rake the bones together either. HOWEVER i do think thatd be a neat idea to explore for a fantasy creature, ive always been very fond of critters with flexible spines

i would get the isle but unfortunately the community there is super toxic, and the game devs are huge jerks to their following x_x tho i did back the game saurian on kickstarter!! ive been following that game development since its first concepts years back :0
