Fullview to feel the baby kick!

My second entry for the Rift: Create a Colossus Contest.
This one was a real pain in the ass, made over 40 backup files and it took me about 10 hours to make.

Made in Photoshop CS5
Used a Wacom Intuos4 Large tablet.
Made possible by; Coffee. (a lot of it)

The concept:

It is of course the Colossus of Life, this should be clear.
The most important aspect of the design is the embryo inside the womb, this represents the very core of all life. Everything on earth, every plant, flower and tree originates from the embryo. Veins and branches run from the embryo into the ground as the roots of all life. The embryo is very delicate and fragile and must be protected, when no danger is present the embryo is out in the open and visible but as soon as danger comes, in the form of people or any other entity, mother instinct kicks in and it closus up. It will hide under a thick coat of trees, foliage and branches. The colossus will do everything in it's power to prevent the outsiders from doing harm to the embryo. Naturally, the embryo is the Achilles heel of the colossus.
The entire colossus is connected to the earth, it's rooted in the ground so it is unable to move to a different position. Also, it's arms are mostly rooted to the ground.
It's main defence are the huge bugs who live besides the colossus.

Maybe if I find the time, I will change it up a bit to fully present my concept the best way possible.
