this was a scrapped idea i had for the manila bulletin sketchfest 2016—originally i illustrated it to focus more on fostering interdependence within the environment of a country, featuring two people helping each other up—that i decided to finish anyway, albeit with a different layout, focused more on the animal of it. the carabao is the national animal of the philippines, a symbol of the industrious and agricultural nature of the people, and it remains today as an intrinsic part of everyday life to some.tumblr | instagram
