This is absolutely brilliant, I'm glad I poked around your profile again since my last visit. c;

The wording and overall presentation of your ideas are impeccable; I couldn't word it any better than you already have!

And, of course, your artwork (being simple and lineless) are interesting additions to the piece without detracting from it.

Thus, I shall leave off with a thank you for sharing this, for it speaks so much to me. C:

Fff thanks so much <3 hehe I'm glad, too!

Thank you, again. x] I love combining words and pictures as art, and layout is important to me.

yeah a lot of my personal art seems to come off as simplistic and/or chibis because they don't take long and can still get my emotion across.

I really appreciate the comment <3 and I'm glad that someone else can see the beauty in this. =]]

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-08 06:05:58 +0000 UTC]

Haha, it's nothing, just stating the truth. ;3

I agree, it's something I've been meaning to work on but never really got around to much. xD
Layout really can make or break a picture sometimes.

Effectiveness is definitely the most important trait there. xD
I think, if the artwork was more detailed, your eyes would naturally be drawn toward it and thus take your attention away from the writing. So ch'yeah. :b

Anytime~ <3
Somehow I get the feeling that a lot of people can relate to this. ;o

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-08 22:09:33 +0000 UTC]

<3

i used to not worry about layout at all but artists like o-whisper-oo: and sort of inspired me to work on it more xD

I love art, and I like looking at it, but a lot of it is about emotion, too... and like you said, the effectiveness of that is important.

Yeah I'd bet. "you can like someone because, but you love someone although."

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-10 19:14:29 +0000 UTC]

Ooh, that's cool. ;o
I'm not really sure where the layout of my artwork is going. I have a tendency to just draw whatever comes to mind. xD;

I find it kind of interesting how my best works are almost always emotionally-based. It makes me wonder about the artists who can produce amazing work without them.

That is the best quote I have ever heard, without a doubt.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-10 23:45:21 +0000 UTC]

x]
My art comes to me in steps. First I'll have an idea, then a pose, then maybe some words, then a background/layout.

I don't really think anyone can be an artist or create art without at least some sort of emotion... coz then we'd all be robots xD but really, the best artists don't draw anything without some idea, some sort of emotion behind it.

I wish I knew who said it. =/ It's one of my faves.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-11 04:02:19 +0000 UTC]

That's a pretty solid system for your artwork. :b Much more predictable than my everything-comes-at-me-at-once thing. xD

I'll agree with you there. I think my artwork is more emotion-driven than most, though. |D

Hmm, you could probably Google the quote and see what comes up?

LMAO, that is so me. Sometimes, if I'm /really/ desperate to keep an idea in my head, I'll chant it incessantly in my head until I get a chance to write it down. -weirdweird- |D
Homggg, I hate it when that happens to me. What's worse is when I wake up, and go, "LIKEWHOA. I just had the coolest dream ever! ...what was it about again? o-o"

Yeah that /reaaaally/ annoys me. I'm like "Wow! there was something about a...! and a...! and... well there was... well. darn. I can't remember anything."

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-14 03:48:49 +0000 UTC]

Haha, I'd have to say it's actually quite annoying. xD Unless I hear like, half of what someone said and forgot the rest, because then my mind makes up the other half (what it thought it heard), and it usually ends up somewhat comical. |D
Yeah! D: I especially hate it when I can't remember a specific word I want to use, but I know it exists and I just can't think of what it is. :U
I wouldn't be surprised, people come up with the weirdest technology. xD Like the pen that can write upside down and underwater and stuff. |D
-cue mission impossible music?- |D

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-14 23:27:40 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes I have a moment where I have a song stuck in my head, and I'm POSITIVE there's this one line that is a lyric, and then I look the official lyrics up and it turns out I made it up. o-o
haha IMPROVISE! That would be funny xD

It sounds like you may use some "Buffy Speak" which just means you use make believe words for ones you can't remember.
Or a pen that works in space that costs millions of dollars when you could've just done what the Russians did: use a pencil. We americans be smarticles, oh yaaaah.

Let's hope the security sharks don't eat me. DON'T LAUGH, I'M SURE THEY HAVE THEM!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-15 03:07:22 +0000 UTC]

Ohhhyeah, I can definitely relate to that. xD It's worse with all the pop songs floating around though, there are quite of few of them where I have no idea what the lyrics are about!

What usually ends up happening is that I have an impression of the word I'm looking for, I think of a word that sort of describes it and throw it into the thesaurus, and then hope it spits out the word I actually wanted. |D
The classic example of redundant technology!

HOMG SECURITY SHARKS. (distract them with cookies!)
That is totally the coolest idea for security that I have ever heard.
...
-has an urge to draw this nao- :U

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-15 23:08:00 +0000 UTC]

haha just the tune of it? It really bugs me when that happens. Drives me nuts until I now what the lyrics are.

I just use other words to describe it, if I can. Usually with lots of 'y's. I'm too lazy to ever look stuff up xDD I'll just say "Oh! Yesterday, with the wordy busy shiny noisy crazy place!" or something along those lines.

DO ET. I wanna see the security sharks who can be distracted with cookies!
-sneaks past them while they follow a trail of cookies to some crazy elaborate trap-

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-16 03:34:09 +0000 UTC]

Haha yeah! Sometimes I just wanna listen to the song, but you can't search up tunes. It drives me crazy until I mention it to someone and they happen to know what it is. |D

Ahahaha, I do that too occasionally, in a way. xD Like I'll use a word that isn't even an adjective, then add a -y to it, and voila! You have to admit though, it does get the point across. |D

I totally should. xD
I haven't drawn sharks since like, the 6th grade. TIME TO ANNOUNCE MY LOVE OF SHARKS TO THE WORLDDDDD! ...in the form of cookie-loving security sharks. |D
Ohdannnnnng. Where did you get this crazy elaborate trap from? o:

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-16 16:52:58 +0000 UTC]

Ohhh I hate that, so, so much. I actually heard "last night" by Good Charlotte a couple of times on the radio and I didn't remember enough of the lyrics until now to actually figure out what the song was.

haha it's not very correct grammar-wise, but it gets the job done, and to me that's what's most important xD I'm more of a nit-picker over spelling than anything else.

I haven't drawn sharks since... ever. I really oughta. I think they'd be fun. And Badass. Because who *doesn't* love security guard sharks with a love for cookies?
It's the most elaborate trap ever. I've set it very, very carefully. I asked General Akbar for advice.

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-17 04:27:49 +0000 UTC]

Haha, that's better than having it floating around in there for even longer. xDD

I'm sort of like the spelling and grammar police when it comes down to it. xD; It makes me sad when I see people misuse they're/there/their and you're/your.

You should, you should! They're certainly very interesting. |D
Ohdaaang. I must see this very carefully set elaborate trap. :U

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-17 17:52:41 +0000 UTC]

true, true. I seem to eventually find out what they are though, even if it takes me forever. I hear "Stories and ALibis" but Matchbook Romance one time in like, 06, and didn't figure out anymore than "give me something worth living for, tell me the reason we're fighting for" until early 2010.

I'm not super picky about grammar, but spelling I do have this burning desire to correct anyone who obviously misspells something. Like definitely. Everyone seems to misspell definitely. Ffff that annoys me, too. They're/their/there, it's not that hard.

k next time I'm in a bookstore/library (which... will probably be tomorrow xD) I'll pick the next one up.
YES. yes, it is. There's a Sith Lord involved and everything. And someone who is secretly the sharks' father.

I got used to it. |D And misspell things on purpose, like saying thar instead of there and guise instead of guys.
It makes me wonder what those elementary school teachers get paid for. :b

THE PLOT THICKENS.

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-04-18 00:26:33 +0000 UTC]

Google has gotten better so that usually even only a snippet of the lyrics will get me what I want, fortunately.

Oh I do that sometimes, too. I get misspelling on purpose. I don't like people being ignorant of the real spelling though.
Nothing useful, apparently. =/

I've also got this whole backstory to the trap about Mace Windu being thrown out of a window.

That it has. I don't even know how many times it's saved me from insanity. xD

It makes me wonder how old the people on the Internet are. I don't even know how many times I've seen someone misspell "friend" as "freind" and "balloon" as "ballon/baloon/bloon/bulloon/other variations here." And then, one of my friends has issues with proper grammar and spelling, but claims "it's only because it doesn't matter on the Internet." I believe that practicing proper spelling and grammar online really does help, though, because his English mark isn't exactly the best thing in the world. :U
I still remember that day, back in the 9th grade, when one of my classmates had to whip out a calculator to find out what percentage 6/10 was equivalent to.

Haha, okay, now you've lost me. xD

-prays- Dear Lord, thank you for giving us Google so that we may maintain our sanity. Love, the people. AMENZ.

I understand if someone doesn't speak english as a first language or is dyslexic or whatever but there is a point where you're like "...guys. You learned this crap in THIRD GRADE." =/
Spelling things on the internet definitely matters xD People who don't know you are gonna think you're incapable or something if you can't spell basic words.
Oh my wow xDDD That's sad. Reminds me of the time a girl I know thought that Alaska was below Texas. -shakes head-

Too much? xD Do you remember when Windu found out about Siddeus and the man pushed Mace out of a window w/ lightning? (and thus the black man dies.... v_v)

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-04-24 23:36:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeaaaaap. I feel the same. :U
You're right, though. xD I guess on FB, where a lot of people don't bother, it's pretty normal. But elsewhere, like on dA, people don't always take you seriously if you can't spell. :U
Ohmaaaaan. How's that even remotely possible? There was a girl in my class who was like, "OH. AFRICA, RIGHT? AFRICA IS A COUNTRY!"
The rest of us literally facepalmed. :U

I thiiiiink I know what you're talking about because a friend showed me a parody of it, but I actually haven't watched it, so... |D
...I don't watch a lot of movies. Or TV, for that matter. :b

Wow xDDD People like that crack me up. Have you ever heard of the Darwin Awards?

you've never watched the real star wars? FO SHAME. Actually I can't really blame you because the first 3 movies weren't that good. (or rather, I, II, and II. IV, V and VI were better, but they were made first...)
I do. OTL

I never really glanced at them for too long, though. Some of the incidents are literally saddening. :U

Ahahaha, I never found the time to, I guess. xD
I've watched bits and pieces of the IV one, I believe, but other than that, nothing. |D I guess it was never really my thing (except for the technology! That I remember being interested in, haha).

When you get some free time you really should; they're awesome. Plus there are so many cultural references you're missing out on until you see them! LotR, Star Wars and Harry Potter are requirements for...everyone. o.o

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-05-06 05:21:05 +0000 UTC]

I guess it depends on what appeals to people's humour. xD
Such as in the majority of my age group finding amusement in FML, whereas I just find it depressing. :b

Haha, that's true. :b
I tried reading LotR, but the writing style didn't appeal to me. |D Can't say much about the movie, except for the potato bit. That potato-remix-song-parody on YouTube... xD
Though I have watched and read Harry Potter. It's awesome. 8D

True, true. I have kind of a dark humor. I suppose most of my/our agegroup does, though.

I didn't really read much of LotR, either. I just watched the movies, which are apparently very close to the books. WOOT PO-TAY-TOES boil em, mash em, stiggeminastew!

I'm not much of a pervert, nor do I really enjoy perverted jokes (once in a while there'll be a good one) but I don't have trouble laughing at dark things. I think it's just because I've been raised in a society that accepts that sort of behavior. -shrug-

I would definitely suggest it. It's a great watch. I've seen it about a billion times but I could watch it about a billion more.
IKR? Me, too! I think/hope they're gonna stick to the book for the most part.

Inkshadow In reply to Velspar [2011-05-07 02:42:52 +0000 UTC]

Eheh, I grew up in a neighbourhood where the word "stupid" was enough to get you a detention. Then I moved and everything turned upside-down and backwards. xDD I think, though, because of the way I was raised in my childhood, I can't laugh at nor understand the appeal of perverted or dark things. The first makes me feel physically nauseous whereas the second makes me cringe. :b
Which is sort of a bad thing when you have a lot of guy friends, but you can't listen to them joke around without feeling like throwing up. XDD;

Well, like Star Wars, I've seen bits and pieces of it. I should keep that in mind for the summer, though!
Harry Potter is actually one of the movies where the storyline stays pretty unchanged, I think. I remember having to watch Eragon and it was absolutely horrid in movie form. o-o;

Velspar In reply to Inkshadow [2011-05-08 15:01:53 +0000 UTC]

My homeroom teacher still bitches me out for saying things like that. OTL but besides her everyone I know accept sthose words as the cultural norm. I blame society and my dad. He watched Jurassic Park with me when I was 6.
Yeah I can see how that would be a problem. A lot of guy humor is revolved around either perversion or gore.

Most definitely. Star Wars and LotR are just classics and cannot be missedout on!
Eugh I hated that movie! I was like, CHRIS WHAT HAVE YOU LET THEM DONE TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL BOOK? And sort of lost all respect for him. But agreed; HP is one of the few series that actually follows the same storyline (for the most part).

Haha yeah, most people do. I think I watched that as a child too, but for some reason, I don't remember much of it. xD; I guess I was too fascinated by the dinosaurs themselves to be interested in the storyline. :b

I know! That movie completely destroyed my vision of the story. ;^;
The only movie I've actually enjoyed moreso than the books are The Chronicles of Narnia series. I'm not sure what it is about the writing, but the style deters me from wanting to read it ever again. :U

I remember the guys arm getting torn off and one of the char's thinking he was consoling her or something, and it was really only just his arm. Mostly I understood that the dinosaurs were hungry. xD

It was such a fail. Fail boat. It was a fail boat. A fail of epic proportions.
Ohhh yeah I actually have to agree, I liked tLtWatW a lot more as a movie than a book. I haven't really seen the other movies, though... I lost interest in the books halfway through, for whatever reason...

It was much bigger than a fail boat.
It was a fail whale.

My parents have been taking us to see each one that comes out. Books I thought were completely boring (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader!) turned out to be alright movies.
I think you're lucky not to have continued reading the entire series. I did, out of the mindset that I needed to finish what I started or forever wonder what it was like. That last book was utterly dreadful.
I don't even know what happened in the last few books anymore. :U
