No one is immune to the trials and tribulations of life and the royal family is no exception.

Kopa (The Divine Prince) - "So much for being normal..."

Sunset has been always been Kopa's favorite time of day ever since he was a cub. But after his encounter with Zira, the sunset now alleviates his physical pain as he now suffers from chronic migraines that triggers when he's under direct sunlight. How can a king rule if the harsh rays of the sun hinders him? Kopa found a way...

After the Kuamka and his near-death experience, Kopa was "touched" by the three goddesses: Oshun, the Goddess of Water, Asase, the Goddess of Earth, and Mawu the Goddess of the Sun and Moon. By their will, he is granted powers that have the potential to bring great prosperity to the Pridelands or its ruination. As a cub, Kopa makes a plethora of mistakes as he tries to navigate the repercussions of having these new powers and not being able to control them. But thankfully, he's not alone and has a reliable support network in his family and friends, but mostly his family. And not to mention his training within Nyanja ya Mbinguni...

POWERS

Sunlit Sight - With the help of Rafiki and Makini, Kopa learns how to enter a deep meditative state. In this state, Kopa's mind melds with Mawu's Will, creating a temporal disconnect from the physical realm, and consequently numbing him to physical pain. But this great fortune is tempered with sensory overload as it proves to be very difficult for a mortal to see through a goddess' eyes.

Spectre Sight - "When we die, our bodies become the grass..." This is true for every animal. After death, the body returns to the earth--to Lady Asase's domain. But what of the spirit? It is ordained by the goddesses that the spirit must travel to the next realm to begin a new life and prepare for reincarnation. However, not all spirits are ready to make such a journey and thus are unwilling to leave the mortal realm. Spectre Sight comes naturally to Kopa. He can commune with the spirits of the dead. And he makes it his mission to help them "finish their business" so they can move on.

Terra Paw - Kopa can manipulate the earth directly under his paws or within limited range around him. He can create bridges, sinkholes, shelters, and even influence the growth of trees and other flora.

Roar of Storms - This power is exactly what it sounds like, only...it's not consistent on what storm it brings. The Roar of Storms is very dangerous to use for exactly this reason. Kopa is deeply afraid of this power...

Whenever Kopa uses his powers, it takes a toil on his body and can leave him incapacitated if he's not careful. The "Heart of the Pridelands" has a difficult journey ahead before he becomes the "Divine Prince".

Kiara (Warrior Princess of Fire) - "I will protect my family and the Pridelands no matter what."

King Ahadi's barbary blood runs thick in Kiara's veins and she takes full advantage of her genetic gifts. Tortured by her inability to protect Kopa from Zira when they were cubs, Kiara dedicates her life in training her mind and body in the ways of the warrior, so that she may serve her brother as his shield. And what better way to realize this ambition but to seek tutelage from one of the strongest warrior prides in Africa--the Shujaa. Under the tutelage of her fiery and ferocious aunt, Khadijah and the leader of the Shujaa herself and current Shield of the King, General Chimamanda, Kiara proves her mettle and tireless dedication and joins their ranks just like her father did. The gemstone, Ruby, chooses her and she gains the ability to release the Shujaa's secret technique: Primal Rage by reciting the words, "Ruby! Awaken my soul!"

However, despite her good intentions, Kiara's relationship with Kopa does become strained at times due to her becoming overprotective of him. She must learn to temper her worry so that she doesn't smother him and risk him coming to loathe her presence. Kiara also discovers some things about herself as she grows older. Unlike Tiifu and Zuri, who dream of having a mate and creating a family of their own one day, Kiara finds out that she has no such desire. When she accompanies her family to Royal Summits to meet other royalty and consequently potential suitors, she feels nothing no matter how handsome or beautiful the available prince and princesses are. Not even the Shujaa with their buff bodies and illustrious manes stirred any yearning within her. She worries if she's "broken" in some way and wonders if there's anyone in the Pridelands that can understand her. Her friendship with Princess Rani of the Tree of Life becomes godsent in her times of inner turmoil. And when Kovu comes into the picture...that's something else she will have to contend with.

Kiongozi "Kion" (Ambassador of the Pridelands and Consul for the Tree of Life) - "Fire only becomes dangerous if you lose control of it."

The third and final child of King Simba and Queen Nala was an unexpected blessing. Or what Kiara likes to teasingly call him: "a happy accident". He's born when Kopa and Kiara enter their juvenile ages and he maintains a healthy relationship with all of them. He thinks Kopa is the coolest thing since cooked meat because of his divine powers, and although he respects his parents, he tends to mouth off at them from time to time and sometimes even flat-out disobey them when he feels they're being unfair. Sarabi entertains him with her stories and his Aunt Khadijah is a blast to wrestle and sing with. But more than anything, Kion loves to annoy Kiara. It's all in good fun mostly, as Kiara happily likes to tease him right back. But Kion mostly initiates it when he feels his big sister is hiding too much behind her "stoic warrior princess" persona too much. Basically, it's his own way of showing how much he cares.

With such a sharp and inquisitive mind in need of nurturing, Kion discovers how much he truly enjoys learning about the different cultures within the Pridelands. He quickly becomes fluent in Elephantese (something Simba struggled with), he learns to read the lips of the giraffes' silent language, and attending any ceremony or ritual with his father and brother was his favorite pastime. But when the Pridelands doesn't become enough to hold his fascination anymore, Kion starts wondering about the culture of animals as well as the other kingdoms outside of it. Not to mention that being the only lion cub in the Pridelands at the time was LAME! That's when the royal family of the Tree of Life, the Night Pride, comes to the Pridelands for a visit and he meets the young and very mysterious Prince Baliyo, the future Hight Priest to his older sister's Inner Circle. From then on. Prince Kion's interest is eternally piqued...
