I've been browsing your Tolkien portraits and I honestly don't know which I like best, they're all so beautifully made and so fitting to their characters! I LOVE the detail on Glorfindel's hair here, though, and the light touching it. Absolutely lovely.

Great work for 2 reason:
1) It's excellent.
2) Because it's an original point of view of elves. I mean, why the elf men must seem like an androgynous men or even like women? They can be handsome and male-look at the same time and not alwaaaaaays the same way!

Amazing textures, and I just love that intense look on his face, like he's prepared to go in to that battle whether he comes out again or not.

Очень хорошо передана состредоточенность перед битвой, чувствуется что Глорфиндель сейчас наденет шлем и ринется в бой с жестоким и беспощадным Врагом.
И он прекрасно понимает, что не всем Светлым суждено из вернуться живими из этой схватки, но они борятся за правое дело и в этом их сила перед Морготом!
Ну и по портрету в целом - думаю и Профессору понравился бы Ваш портрет Глорфинделя, ибо он действительно очень хорош 
(и портретное схотство с персонажем, описаным Толкиеном, и зеленый плащ с застежкой-фибулой, прям как такой какой носил Леголас или как те, что эльфы подарили хоббитам из Братства Кольца).

Great Pic of Glorfindel! he has become one of my Fav characters from Tolkien's Books. Its sad that he wasn't in the Ford Scene in Fellowship of the Ring. your artwork of him here is so lifelike and awesome! he has some chizzled features for an Elf, but thats ok. Folks often tell me I draw my Elves too muscular and chizzled as well. but thats just how I picture them. I checked out some of your other artwork as well...your pics of Mahedros and the other sons of Feanor were Great! always good to see other Folks drawing Characters from the First and Second Age like me. lol

Да. Я думаю, он именно таким и был. Воин, мужчина, светлый рыцарь, единственный, кому позволено было вернуться из Мандоса за совершенные им дела. Изумительный взгляд у него получился. Глубокий, напряженный, уже начало той ярости с которой он пойдет убивать... даже не так. Уничтожать, вырезать ряды врага за всю ту боль, которую прислужники Моргота уже успели причинить или только собираются. И секунда "до", в которую появляется это выражение, схвачена потрясающе! И потрясающе схвачен свет в его лице, о котором говорит Толкиен. Мне кажется светлые брови и ресницы тоже работают на это свечение. Оттенок волос получился замечательный - именно золотой - не пепельный, не соломенный, а точно в точку. С этим оттенком очень здорово сочетается зеленый.
Повторю еще раз вместе со всеми - да, это действительно Глорфиндель!
