Background

Pavu, the only born son of former rulers Jitu and Hasira, was immediately next in line to become King of their large pride. The pride doesn't function as many others do- there are many males, rather than just 1-3, and lions choose one single mate for life.

It is rumored that the scars on his body are actually stripes, since no one had ever really known Pavu without them, but they are in fact scars. Despite the functionality of the pride, leadership is often something that is fought for, and yet Pavu goes undefeated.

When Kiara (daughter of Simba and Nala) was distressed, having just had a fight with her mate Kovu, she ran far away to take time away from everyone and everything. She stumbled into Pavu's pride, who immediately took her to the giant leader to determine her fate. The two grew extremely close, to many's surprise, and Pavu announced that his forever-mate would be the young lioness.

Kiara later had his cubs, and the moment they were born, she ran away. Pavu doesn't know to where, or why... he never got a goodbye or an explanation. He was left with two cubs and the memory of his only mate.

About

- Pavu is a giant lion. He uses brute strength to crush those who challenge him, but he's a very peaceful, fair leader.
- Pavu's elderly mother, Hasira, helped him take care of his only two cubs. The cubs eventually started calling her "Momma" instead of "Grandma."
- Almost all lions in this pride have dark pelts. Golden pelts (such as Simba's and Nala's) are very rare.
- These lions also have a genetic trait that makes their fangs unnaturally long.

Tl;dr: This big ol' lion from a distant tribe befriended Kiara and they eventually had cubs together. She abandoned him (and the cubs) without explanation.
