Y'all. I was so flattered by the response I got on this piece:

Your guys's feedback was so sweet. I usually don't delve beyond pony art too much, so it really was a pleasant surprise, and it's why I've decided to continue exploring the HTTYD universe a little! Thank you guys.

So, up next in the Night Light redesign series is Pouncer, the almost all-white dragon that resembles the Light Fury most out of all the Night Lights. Once again I am NOT a fan of these lame ass names, given the creativity we got with the rest of the dragons. Toothless, Stormfly, Hookfang, Windshear, Cloudjumper, those are all SO COOL. And they're somewhat of a testament to the dragon's personalities, too. I was between Seafoam, Moonstone, and Moondancer for Pouncer's rename, but I've already named his sister "Seasmoke" and I don't want to tire the Sea prefix. I feel like Moondancer rolls off the tongue more than Moonstone, though, so I'm going with that!

So, Moondancer is most genetically aligned with Night Fury DNA, but his mother's colors were more dominant than Toothless's in this case. I originally wanted to make him grey like his sister (though a much lighter grey), but I have to admit I do like the look of a dark colored head on a light body. I did try to stay somewhat true to his original design, just like I tried to do with Dart/Seasmoke. I kept the dark spikes on his back, dark tail, dark ear tips, and blue-hued paws. However once again I pretty much free balled the rest.

Like I took inspo with a poison dart frog for Seasmoke, I took inspiration for Moondancer's colors with a blue-tongued skink. It's why he has a blue tongue. Some other small design notes about him:

- Moondancer's legs are the classic night fury short. His sister, Seasmoke, has the longest legs out of the siblings. Moondancer actually has somewhat of a genetic flaw, in that his hind legs are much longer than his front ones, pushing his backside up in an uncomfortable manner. He was able to overcome this though, and has adapted very well in adulthood. However, given that his legs were uneven, he'd often get around in the form of frog-jumping, hence the nickname "Pouncer."

- Unlike his sister, he is a very social dragon. He allows pets from just about anyone, and in fact craves the attention.

- His rider is Nuffink, Hiccup and Astrid's younger child. These two have more of a casual bond, where Zephyr and Seasmoke in comparison have an extremely strong one.

- Moondancer as not an accurate flier. This is because he is missing the two flaps that go at the beginning of his tail, and also because he has a relatively small tail fin. He can't make sharp turns and is not the best racer, but he is still a very fast flier. As long as he's going straight.

- The spines on his back that have wing membrane connecting them are not moveable. However, they aid in keeping him straight during flight, since he doesn't have that one set of tail wings. This is also why they're so tall.
