EDIT: I've noticed quite a few spelling errors here and I apologize. If it's too annoying for you, I will go back and change it, but I'm tired right now lolMany people ask how I make my costumes so quick and how I actually go about it. Well, I thought a quick tutorial would be useful!
Custom pattern making is super easy and once you know what you're doing, it's quick. Please note that this tutorial is for non-stretch materials ONLY. If you're using one-way or two-way stretch fabrics, I recommend you don't follow this tutorial.

Thank you! This will be very helpful for me. I was wondering if you can clarify what you mean in step 4's note section ... Do you mean if you want it to be smaller than your actual waist size/measurements so it will cinch the waist?
