A summary of the forum: Bitch, Bitch, Bitch, interesting observation, bitch, bitch, bitch.So, I just picked up on some info about sonics new game that had been leaked out to the internet. Needless to say people are bitching about it.
I'm not as big a fan as most of the sonic guys out there. So I can't really talk. All I can do is give my own opinion. I've seen game play vids, it looks interesting. But I'm worried about it becoming another Sonic and the Secret rings.
Storyline wise I think it's in the early stages. It might not be a werewolf at all. Which is the main thing people are complaining about. "AH MAN! ANOTHER GIMMICK IT'S GONNA BE A SHITTY STORYLINE!" Well, think about it. It may not be a werewolf. It could just be a sort of beast form. Or mutation. And think about the gameplay aspect. (which is the next complaint)
I, myself, am not so good at the speed of the classic sonic games. I actually liked sonic heroes more than the average fan. My favorite games were the two sonic adventures. So if the game play of the werewolf form focuses more on power and beating crap up... THEN I'M GAME
DDI'm also torn on the whole werewolf thing. I love werewolves. Read a lot of werewolf books. They happen to be my favorite monster. I like 'em WAY more than vampires anyway. But that's a different discussion. Point is, I don't think werewolves belong in sonic. Much as I love them, It's just too tacky to fit in with the sonicverse. I think the form is interesting. But more as a beastfrom rather than a werewolf. Funny how a little labeling fixes everything, no?
Still, there isn't that much info out yet. So who knows... it might be good. But then again... -.-; I've been disapointed before by sega. Isn't that the same logic of some one in an abusive realtionship? "Oh they won't do it again!" Hmm... something to ponder...

I actually rented the game for my Wii for about a week. The storyline didn't suck, but likewise, I didn't get that far in the game. This one level was being a BITCH!..... but anyway, I honestly thought it was a pretty decent game.
I never played Secret Rings, but I don't think it would be a good game. -_-

Well.Many people think that just because Sonic is a Werehog(The proper name,not really werewolf),and that they think SEGA`s been stealing from TP,the whole game will be shit.I actaully think Sonic Unleashed will be a fantastic game when it`s finally due on sale,I like the thought of Sonic changing and being able to go Werehog.But seriously,there`s sooo many idiots out there who will just bring the hammer down for anything.
The only game I`m REALLY not sure about is Sonic and the Black Knight..I mean SatSR was epic,but BK?Come on!-.-"

Well, really. I'm actually curious about the best sonic (as I like to call it) because I've always liked beserkers and such. But the general consensus is that most people don't like it. This comic was supposed to humorously cater to those folks. Thanks for you opinion though. (and personally? I didn't like SatSR, Blech.)

Anyway, back on topic. I think the game looks awesome. It changes views sometimes from behind Sonic to side scroller view, making it a bit like Sonic Rush. Combining gameplay of two of SEGA's best modern games? Oh yes! Also, like you said, it might not be a werewolf. It might be just a wolf form he can turn into, like Link. People think he has been ripping off Twilight Princess, but I don't think thats the case.

I loved Secret Rings even 2006 but I don't think this one will BE GOOD TO me

Yeah, it does. I mean it sounds bad at first about Sonic being turned into a werewolf at first, but then I found a picture that someone made had a linked to some of the screenshots of the game itself. Which then led me to look for this video. [link]
That has bring me hope about the game now, especially if it was just a test run stage.

I played the Sonic 06 game and enjoyed it very much, I'm looking forward to this game after hearing that it was a continuation of Sonic 06. Though seeing Sonic in this "Beast form" kinda, well, really gave me a shock. 0.o

i know! Everyone thinks it's a werewolf! Werewolfwerewolfwerewolf.... IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A WEREWOLF IF YA ASK ME! D< I don't label Sonic games as "bad" unless it's HARD. like SOnic 06, the controls were horrible and background were dark. that's what I didn't like. what I do like about Sonic Unleashed is that most of the screenshots have BRIGHT colors. Even the "scary" beast picture. I honestly like it being DARK in the STORYLINE but I ask you-- why does a Werewolf = Shitty Storyline? bottom line: It doesn't. and it's not even a werewolf. NO ONE can assume that. I think it's like a beast. that's as far as I'll go untill the game comes out :/

You got a point, the graphics are beautiful and the gameplay looks fun, however, the fact that they gave Sonic a new form that is not only different from the usual color change, but also brings in the overused mutation/monster theme is what's ticking some people (or at least me) off.
And really, Sega isn't very good at doing story lines, so we can't expect them to make the theme work.
Though saying "beast form" does make me feel a little more open to it. Good idea.
...Huh, so are you implying Sega has an abusive relationship with it's fans?...

I don't care too much about graphics, and I'm less picky about gameplay compared to other fans. (but secret rings.. UGH). But I can see how the inclusion of ANOTHER form could lead to some irritation. It's like "What? Super sonic not enough for you???" So the irritation is warranted. But I'd rather look at it optimisitacally rather then negatively. Plus I like beasts, they're fun to control when on a rampage. Thus my optimism.
I must admit the sega story lines are a bit lacking. And I haven't even played 360 or heard it's storyline. I shirked away from it.

You know what the funny thing is about those chibi's? I NEVER draw cute. I'm not good at it at all! Those Chibi's there are a once in a life time aberation. I SWEAR!
