UPDATE: I don't know how I always forget but I added AJ's freckles.NATG - Pony caroling/pony spreading cheer
I accidentally went FULL White Diamonds on this piece... Their expressions just turned out so... white... diamondy... Nowhere near as good as she'd do it of course.
Anyway, when I was finishing the sketch (adding the little accessories) I searched online for "winter hat" but didn't like what I saw. I knew I wanted a trapper hat for AJ and whaddayaknow White Diamond's Rarijack Daily just happened to feature AJ sporting the perfect trapper hat for this piece. Clearly she read my mind and knew I needed help with pony garb since I'm terrible at it.
Well in the end, I just decided so much White Diamonds influenced this piece I'd just go ahead and dedicate this one to her. This one's for you ! I mean, the hat and the style is all hers so it's like I didn't even draw it really.
Also, since I went to town with it I missed the deadline for the prompt by a hundred miles. I was there in spirit.

Eeeeeeeeeee! Yes! Perfect! Then I have done my job! My favorite part of the drawing process is their expressions anyway.
Oh well the white border is maximum White Diamonds thing. She does that almost every time with her Rarijack Daily tumblr posts. I just figured at the rate I was going, that border she does would work with this snowy image! I'm glad you caught that!

I've noticed that on a lot of her outdoor pieces especially. It does a great job of making the viewer feel like he/she is in the piece with the subject(s). Frosty, wintery goodness.
I love Pinkie's scarf too. I think that's one of my weaknesses - adorable scarves.

They do! That's funny I didn't even use reference for Pinkie I apparently just had their scarves in the back of my mind. Let's just pretend Rarity made them all pink and white scarves for their first Hearths Warming Eve!

Pinkie's scarf colors are a perfect fit with her palette here; they're analogous. She's almost monochromatic actually. Fun! ^^
I didn't think about the matching scarves until I came across the Twilight plz. I was looking for a pony in a cute outfit or with an accessory. Yes! They're Rarity's gifts to her friends.
