Description In the UK, robins are considered to be a gardener's best friend. They are very tame, sing away and hop around as the gardener potters around his garden.

There is a rather interesting story behind this very robin and, if you're good, I might tell you it one day

They are *very* tame in the UK but not so much in continental Europe, unfortunately. But who knows, you might get lucky one day!

It's a bit of a long story, but I'll try

As you may know, my Grandma passed away earlier this year. I was in Germany at the time so Mum was home on her own. After she told me the news, she heard something in the dining room. At first she thought something had fallen, but then she realised that something was moving around. She went in quietly...and found a robin hopping around the table! She managed to shoo it out after about half an hour.

Later that day, she heard a noise again. Sure enough, the robin had returned. She shooed it out. The robin came back every day - into the dining room - for a whole week. We then went to Liverpool for the funeral and to meet my Grandpa. When we arrived, he was in the garden. My Grandpa loves gardening and the garden is always beautiful, even in winter. We went into the living and there was a painting of a robin on the wall - I had completely forgotten about it. He always called my Grandma his "best friend" and, and I explained in the commentry, robins are considered to be a gardener's best friend.

Back in London, the robin came back to visit every day (Mum learnt to keep the windows closed) up until only a few weeks ago. When I was in London in August, my Mum called me and asked me to bring my camera. When I asked why, she told me: "Grandma's here".

And this is a photo of that very same robin who would come by every day.
