Description 2014.

Acrylic on canvas paper.

Credit to Roger Garland, who's picture of the Trees of Valinor inspired my design of the Tree of Life (the left tree)

A dualistic depiction of "The Two Trees", representing the Biblical trees of life and knowledge, as well as Tolkien's own version of Eden, Valinor, populated by Laurelin and Telperion.

The Tree of Life (blue) radiates leaves of light and fire, the fire of life that blossoms into a glorious flower.

The Tree of Knowledge (gold) is made of many different shapes and symbols, symbolic of the many forms that wisdom and knowledge take in shaping human existence, taking shape as a radiant fruit.

Three stars surround the trees, the blue star of life, the golden star of wisdom, and fused together, the star of human love and experience, which is the offspring of life and knowledge when they come together.
