They look in very good shape, very strong, and their abdomens are splendid. Unfortunately for them, I think they won't be able to use their muscles again, at least, not to defend herself or their people. And their captors know what they're capable of. So, either they'll have them both soon executed or they'll make sure they'll as soon be shakled, maybe ankles and wrists, so they won't ever be in position to fight or revolt themselves again. And I believe that's why they keep their eyes closed: they're still proud but already hopeless. They won't even look at the chief ennemy to show a little will of resistance. As they won't show their resignation or beg him (or her). But the fact is they're hopless; they know for sure there's nothing they can do from this point of no return. All their battles are behind them. Their hands are tied up and they'll probably never be free again. They're closing their eyes because they got into the lion's den and have to prepare for a terrible death... Or a dreadful new kind of life, unworthy of them, rather humiliating, maybe quite long, and they know the ennemy has every right to smile... They keep their proudness to themselves and have no hurry to see that smile...
