It is so nice to live somewhere where doctors and specialists make house calls! So I called around and found a sleep doctor, Doctor Ariana, and she said she would come over and discuss my sleeping problem. How cool is that?So I explained to her that I have a friend trapped in a dream realm and I need help getting her out, specifically with a device known as a dream machine helmet. She just stared at me! Wow, my first thought is she must be really thinking hard about this problem.
Then she asked me if I knew what a Somnologist was. Oh wow! I told her is sounded like a sonar expert! Like on a submarine! Or the space sonar we use in asteroid fields! She shook her head like I was wrong, well, I guess I was and she said it was the name for a sleep doctor. I learn something new every day, but then again if you explore planets you are learning everything all the time so that is nothing new.
I asked her if sleep doctors did sleep medicine, or things like sleep surgery. She said they helped diagnose and treat sleep disorders. Oh wow! I bet I could not sleep well if I slept disorderly! I would have to straighten those sheets! So I asked her if she made beds and she says she does more than that, but dream machine helmets are a bit outside of her specialty.
Oh no! What do I say?
So I told her I really, really need that dream machine helmet! I need to save someone!
She blinked, smiled, looked at me, and said, "No promises, but I will see what I can put together...do you have a toolbox and some electronics?"
YES!
The difference between a good doctor and a great one is that the great ones know how to build cool gadgets!

I have a feeling a dream machine can be a terrible idea, no matter how noble your cause is. If you get into the wrong dream, you're screwed.

While she works on that let me come up with another plan. There has to be a way there! I don't have a lamp with a genie in it...or wait, maybe we could find one! Let me look through the phone book and find an antique store. Every good antique store needs a genie lamp in it somewhere!

While at the antique store, keep an eye out for old full-length mirrors. You might find one that's a portal to somewhere, and sometimes somewhen, else. On the other side are usually very powerful allies - if you can persuade them!

I will need to figure out a way to persuade them though...I will need to use my head for that!
Or I just may end up trapped in a strange dimension! Oh no! This could turn into a science-fiction adventure with way too many side quests and sub-plots!
Regardless - we have to take that chance!
