If you do not know the game Horizon Zero Dawn, I think you are missing out on something incredibly great! It is a beautiful game in a post apocalyptic setting with a fiery red head who hunts machines. What is not to like? And that is just the surface of the game! When my friends from Kioku found Delicate Arch in the video game we knew we HAD to do this shoot. I cleaned up my Aloy armor and added some touches I missed before and we made the trek out to Arches National Park. With talented photographers just as passionate about the video game as I was, we knew we were going to get some gorgeous shots!

We hiked out at about 4 AM so we could catch the magic hour just as we arrived at the arch around 7 AM. The weather was PERFECT with wisps of clouds in the air. This particular shot was made to mimic the iconic shot taken of Delicate Arch years ago, but this time Aloy is in it!

On our way back to the car we did get rained on... probably the scariest moment of my life. You know what flash floods are? Well I KNOW what they are now. Also lighting hitting about 100 feet away is scary as sh*t!! We all made it back drenched, but alive to the car. So that was good.
