I am still working on the updated version but there are not many more changes to do than what you see here. Just adding props now mostly and doing maintenance work. Debut of the final version will be in July!!! I am so excited to be starting the bow this weekend!

Wow! I love your Sheik cosplay. I have been wanting to cosplay Sheik for quite some time. Could you tell me how you made your costume, or where you bought it?

I get this question so much I am actually working on an album and blog post to cover everything in depth, haha. Β
This is a summary: The wig is two wigs mixed together for a fun color mix. The top is technically bald and I added the straps on by sewing them in. The hair piece above the braid is aluminum. I melted the aluminum and polished it myself with a lost-foam mold.
The armor is all real veg-tan leather. I cut, dyed, and molded the pieces to have their shapes and proper color.Some of the pieces appear as two separate pieces, but are actually one.Β
The under-suit is lycra (spandex) and the shirt is spandex with a chainmail print on it. I found a texture for it online and modified it for sheik. I sent the pattern to fabric on demand and it cost... a lot. ($40 a yard and I needed a yard and a half...)
The bow is a pvc pipe bow with foam and worbla decor added on top. I can actually fire the bow, but its arrow does not fly (its not a real arrow, but a real bow.)
The lyre is made out of poplar and metal strings.

The mask has a zipper in the back and piece of metal that goes over the nose. The zipper helps hold everything tight around my head and the piece of metal I pinch to keep the mask on my nose. I used the metal bit from a dust mask that I use when I sand wood props. The mask is also easy to pull of my face when I get warm or want fresh air haha.

Some intense details on those shoulder pads. That fancy shirt probably took a while.

Thanks! The chainmail shirt was made by finding a chanmail texture online, changin the color to blue, sizing and test printing it, and then emptying my wallet to get it printed on spandex... It took some time but not as much as the armor. :3
Fun note, the shoulder pads say "Zelda Rules, Ganon Sucks" in Twilight Princess hylian script. XD
