First Appearance: Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (Super NES 1995)
A friendly companion to the Yoshis, this dog-like creature is big enough for even them to ride upon. Poochy will charge forth in the direction Yoshi is facing, and is impervious to hazards like spikes and lava, which Yoshis cannot touch. He can even sniff out secrets for Yoshis to find, like Fruits and Hearts. Good pup! Interestingly, Poochy has had a few appearances in some of Mario's adventures, and has somehow learned how to drive for his appearance in Mario Kart Tour.
Poochy appears in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a Spirit, represented in battle by Duck Hunt.
