Now that I'm playing SS I got to reminiscing about the times I played G/S/C and remembered that I used to really like this guy back then.
I thought he was pretty cool despite him being a dude in a jumpsuit and cape. Actually it's quite admirable that he could pull that look off.
So now I'm paying a tribute to those ol' times.
I took his HH/SS design though, because the military-uniform thing is definitely working better than THE GODDAMN JUMPSUIT (AND CAPE SRSLY WTH MAN).
As to the picture... I have no idea what he's doing. Maybe he's goofing off in front of a mirror, testing poses he'll flash aspiring champions with, idko. It sort of looks like he's trying to do a magic trick but forgot cards.
But now that I think of it, in his sprites he's always pulling off some weird poses with a lot of flailing around with at least one of his hands.
Alsoooo I drew him being SRS because, well, most fanarts depict him as being a sort of smiling idiot, but in the game he's super serious/irritated ALL THE TIME. >8|
I have no idea how old Lance is supposed to be, so I drew him as some sorta' young adult. Anyone know his exact age? @_@ 'Cause on the original artwork(s) it's hard to pin down.
I still haven't challenged the E4 in the game - right now I'm trying to figure out how the hell to beat Bitchface Clair.
I'm also wondering how much problems I'm gonna' have with Lance if I've unsuccessfully battled Bitchface like 10 times already. Damn them Dragons being immune to, like, everything I throw at them.
ALSO, QUESTION GUYS!
If I were to draw a Johto/Kanto region Gym Leader in a similar style to Lance here, which would you like to see most?

Yes, I read the manga up to the Yellow arc.
I prefer good-guy game-Lance rather than evil manga-Lance. And in the comic not only was he the bad guy, but he was super short and looked, like, 12 or something, wth. xD

Oh, easy way to beat the Bitchface and Lance: Lapras.
I also had my Red Gyarados learn Avalanche, which turned out to be surprisingly useful.
Basically, I think if you can teach any of your Pokemon Ice Beam or Avalanche, you should be fine.

I can get her Dragonairs and Gyarados down quite easily with my Piloswine's Ice Fang and Staryu's Thunder, it's her Seadrea I have problems with. =v=;

Ahhhh dude, FREAKING LANCE! He's going to be the end of me. I can take down the E4 fine, but Lance and his effing Dragonites ALWAYS stop me short of that sweet, sweet championship. Here, it looks like he's blocking my path to the Pokemon champion...hahaha, you definitely captured that part of him!

On the other hand he seems so lazy/frail, flying the distance of one route (Lake of RAEG - Magohany? Town) on his dragons he might as well be. You know. Rheumatism kicking in, his hip breaking from time to time and stuff.

When you're a Pokemon Master, you can be as much of a freak as you want.
Yeah, you'll have problems with Lance. Though, it's less *HYPER BEAM* and more *OUTRAGE* which hurts even MORE because it's a physical based Dragon type move, so Dragonite gets Same Type Attack Bonus which would be bad enough if Dragonite also didn't have the highest physical attack stat in the game :< So...yeah.
And if you're still having troubles with Clair, you can always try using X-items :3 Those can be pretty helpful in giving you a boost.

Arhgfhgfffff. Looks like I have some serious training to look forward to with my failtastic team of "this thing doesn't have very strong stats but it's so cute/cool/pretty/matches the theme/color of the group!". AT LEAST I DON'T DISCARD THESE POKES BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT STRONG, UNLIKE MY JERK OF A RIVAL FRANCIS. PROF. OAK WOULD APPROVE THAT, RIGHT? ...RIGHT...? DB

I always thought Lance was a douche and you've captured his douchiness quite well. XD I am in love with his left hand because of the angle that you drew it in.
Also, try teachin' one of your Pokes Ice Beam. It seems to work rather well against the dragon-types.

I have my fat, awesome Piloswine with Ice Fang, but the greatest problem with Bitchface is her Seadrea which isn't weak to Ice. =3= I just have to level my team up and take that thing on with raw power instead of type weakness. Unfortunately that means hours of training on weak, wild Mons. D|
