ok so this is my new original character, Danaus.

this is my first entry to Emma-Warren 's create an oc comp

This is Danaus - inspired by the beautiful orange Monarch Butterfly. They are genderfluid, and have a loving girlfriend

I lovingly created Danaus and put loads of thought into them - please don't steal or claim as your own!

  Danaus Bio
Age: Uncertain. They do have a mortal life lifespan, however, they can't/don't want to remember their age.
Gender: Fluid. They do feel equally feminine and masculine, and they don't mind how they are referred to. They do have male genitalia, however.
Species: As yet unnamed, but I have deemed them 'bugs' - they are a butterfly/fairy-like creature.
Height: To compare to a human, they would be equivalent to 10 feet tall. They are actually around 1 foot tall and are tall, lanky bugs.
Weight: Barely anything, really. Danaus is thin all over.
Family: Sister named Danae and a brother in law who is yet to be named properly. Everyone just calls him 'Wolfie'.
Spouse: Danaus is in a mostly asexual relationship with a Fawnette named Yang . They can carry a good conversation between themselves and are content just being together.

Colour Schemes
Skin: Their skin is a super pale orangy yellow, the shadows are a slightly darker orangy yellow, more of a pastel hue, I guess? Their blushes have slightly darker yet again yellow and orangy tones
Eyes: Light orange with a darker orange pupil - not so much of a yellow overtone here as with the skin.
Hair: Long black roots with white, light grey, orange and yellow sections. The orange in their hair is a similar shade of darker orange that was used for the pupil and the yellow of the hair is the darkest yellow that is in the blush tones. (So the yellowy hues from lightest to dark: base skin, shadows, blushes, hair )

Yang and Wolfie belong to littlekimchi

Danaus and Danae are very vain creatures who wear sheer coverings. They appear translucent with large wavy, flowing hair. They can fly, but their sheer coverings also act as their wings as they were born without. They dislike humans as they have seen what humans have done to their butterfly kind and they believe they are better than them in every way. They believe they are better than most creatures actually, but they will tolerate other creatures better than humans.

They rarely show themselves to other creatures and hardly ever to humans. When they do decide to show themselves, the other creatures will bring them offerings of jewellery and items of beauty to entice them to show themselves more. This DID work in the beginning, but now Danaus and Danae feel that this bribe has negative connotations to try and trick them into revealing themselves and showing their beauty. The siblings hate this. They don't want all these trinkets so they reveal themselves less and less, and are basically annoyed with just being gawped at with no substance of conversation. They do love intelligent conversations and learning/discussing things.

They are attracted to flowers and shiny/pretty things, but really try to not show it while other beings are around as they would be given gifts to stay around (the siblings see this as bribes and dislike the negative connotations surrounding this) and they love gardens and forests and all secluded outdoor areas but will stay away from places that many humans populate, a large far property with a nice flower garden/forest area with very few residents living there would be the closest they would get to a human these days. However, Danaus and Danae do visit the back garden of Casey Fulton . She has developed and maintained a lush native garden in her back yard and the butterflies thoroughly enjoy this, and they take trips there before heading back to the native forest that surrounds her town.

Relationship with Yang: Danaus meets Yang after they get injured. The injuries are pretty much flesh wounds but they have never been injured before - they have always managed to get away from danger. They wake up in Yang's little forest dwelling with her milling about in her own house and Danaus panics and stresses about what has happened to him. Yang tells him what happened and how she has tended to his (minute) injures. He is unwilling to talk to her further until he realises she doesn't give a rats about how beautiful he is (at least, she doesn't show her appreciation to their face). Danaus is taken aback by the amount of actual conversation that passes between them over the week or so he spends with Yang, and they start getting suspicious and argumentative with her about her intentions. Danaus believes that Yang wishes to lock them up and 'keep them on display' in her own home purely for herself. Yang tells them to get the hell out of her house and they try, but their flesh wounds still haven't healed properly and they are reluctant to leave - Yang is pretty good at fixing their wounds and bringing Danaus skin back to normal and you can't even tell they were injured. Danaus realises that Yang also thinks she is better than other creatures and humans - a subject that they can understand. They bond over this and eventually become friends.

Once Danaus is ready to leave Yang's forest dwelling, she makes it clear that they are welcome back anytime. They come back nearly every day for afternoon tea and they always bond a little more. Sometimes they lead Yang around to their favourite places - still bickering nearly every visit, but Danaus appreciate this and eventually falls in love with Yang. They move in together into the forest dwelling and are quite content enjoying each other company.
