Wrapping the hands is more about the wrist than the actual hand, really. It needs to be kept straight and stable in order to handle the strain of landing a hit.
It's a nice, theatrical pose, but keep that in mind for the future, whether it's for art or your own personal use

no, I mean wrapping. He had a fight, he hurt his hands and he's wrapping them, got it?

I see.
The texture of your gauze looks a lot like boxer's hand wraps, so it seemed more like he was prepping for another fight, rather than performing some first aid.
In which case, obvs you'd cover the wound first, often with a gauze or other sterile absorbent pad, then wrap over it with more gauze, then tape. If it's a real bleeder, you make the gauze layer thick just around the wound, then apply this elastic bandage- often a clay brown- on top to keep everything fitted where it belongs.
A little verbose, I realize, but I've gotten roughed up on occasion.
The tendency is to have somebody look after the face first, as swelling gets pretty bad there n you really don't want split skin over ur eyes. The sooner, the better, believe me.
But the piece is done n I'm sure you were going for a more Channing Tatum aesthetic rather than a Sylvester Stallone one. Good on you, in any case, cos it's a solid piece
