EDIT: Okay, so months later, I finally got around to tweaking this thing. I hope the tattoo is looking lighter. The big-headedness remains for the time being; I will fix this when I am not under much time constraints (read: AWA). I also made some cosmetic touch-ups to his face, largely around the eyes and mouth. I doubt anyone will really notice; it is more to my own amusement anyway.Meant to post this prior to Animazement...but yeah, my first finished CG in...a good while. To be honest, I didn't even intend to include a background (if you can call it that. It's...lazy. But it's better than flat colours, right?). I also tried out a new approach to colouring, which still needs kinks ironed out, but that's normal with any new technique.
Anyway! Poster boy! Chris! Goggles! I dunno about you guys, but I'd totally want to see "Karate Jesus" live.
Also, there are three references to geek/cartoon culture here. Have fun!

Is it weird that I can't stop staring at his BODY HAIR?! I'm just amazed that you drew it, and it looks as good as it does. So rarely do artists draw their guys with body hair and it's rarely drawn so... nice. ._.
Anyways, I love the tattoo but I think it... might be too brownish? I know it's a black tattoo but for some reason I keep wanting to think that there should be a hint of green to it? (Then again, everyone I know with a tattoo has had them forever and a day) I mean, to me it might make it look a little more like a real tattoo? Though I'm not a tattoo expert, so

Thank you! The colouring was a new style, something I plan to implement into future works very soon. One of them will prove to be relevant to your interests, I'm sure.

I plan to use this sort of colouring--and hopefully improve on it while I'm at it--for future works (including that Jin I just posted). I think the fact that you and others like the background is proof that I *can* do a suitable background when it's called for.

Great job on this, you're skills continue to improve apace - particularly like the fact that you went to the trouble of adding those individual hairs for the arms/treasure trail! Is that a new tat on Chris, or have we just missed it up until now?

The new colouring approach has worked out thus far, methinks. The individual hairs were actually a lot of fun to add--and certainly made easier thanks to the new tablet.

The new colouring, while taking some getting used to, is definitely a hit with me. I appreciate your note of that! The trees are only really easy for me because of that view I have from my window (which I'm happy to say that so far, they're doing much better than they were last year!)!

I'm glad that you like that background--it's simple, but I thought a little something that gave you an idea of what kind of setting he was in would suffice. I would definately enjoy wearing em. Hell if I had the money, I trully could cos-play as them. It would be kind of fun to dress like Chris, but I don't have the hair or the build. I look much like as some say like Uryū Ishida from Bleach. Or the timid version of Snape. lol
The urban style is probably the most detailed version of simple background. I believe it looks great because, it gives off more modern feelings.
