I think this was one of the islands off the main city,where glassworks or cloth manufacturing were the specialities. A third island was a religious retreat. There are many islands that have only a crumble of ruins or just trees and rocks.
Anyway, when I left I didn't want to go to any city where cars ran riot !

I have been to Venice twice swince the 70's. There are still places I've yet to visit in it. One of them is a cathedral on an island. The horses at St.Mark's were stolen from the dying Byzantine empire in 1204, and recently repaired or replaced due to air pollution. The originals are now indoors, I think.
Huge dikes have been built to keep flooding out as the city is slowly sinking ! Built by refugees from Attila's pillaging Europe, it became a state in the 7th century and had a Doge as its head. The council did the ruling, the Doge reigned. They even had their version of the CIA.Napoleon overthrew their government in 1798, and, Venice became part of Italy later.

Man I cant believe it, this is trully a masterpiece by you Vicode
There is nothing that I dont like in that picture, it has a dreamy atmosphere around it allthough the people's faces look like they are from Asia not Europe 
The sea and the flow of waves is really captivating, dark blue water like it is when the water is around tall places yet with its distictive blue color.
Another thing I noticed was the mischevious cat ready to jump on the table to get the two birdies that from what it seems take a bite from the flowers petals ^^.
Your instructor would be proud of you
