Description Something new for me again today, ink.
I bumped into an old friend today and over coffee I told him I was learning to paint watercolours.
He gave me some old bottles (around 10 years), of ink that had never been opened.
He used to design tattoos years ago but no longer dabbles.
Unfortunately he could not find any old pens and nibs, but I was extremely grateful just for the ink.
I simply had to give my ink a try when I returned home, so I improvised.
I had some small wooden plant ID holders still left around so I sharpened the point on one end, and used the blunt end to cover the wider areas in ink. It worked but could not really hold enough ink to make longer strokes.
I made quite a few mistakes and tried to correct them with White gouache, but it just made it worse.
But the experience was really pleasing and I will now purchase some nibs and pens etc.
I would really appreciate any advice on what sort of nibs and pens I should get, so please let me know your thoughts on these
