Yet another "Balloon Fiesta" photograph. Click "download" for a bigger, better version.As much as this event brings in (tourist money) it's more of a bother than anything: lots more traffic/tourist people in town, taking up space... Lots more idiots crashing on the freeway because they watch the balloons (or the balloons LAND there), countless balloons landing on streets and in people's yards, or landing on powerlines and causing damage/outages.... It's really a huge headache for the effort.
But then again, all that considered really says "Albuquerque" quite well!

I wish my brother could have been sent to the desert when this was in town. He would have loved it! But he got sent there a few months too soon...ah, well. At least he got a unique cultural experience he won't forget.

And indeed, at the very least culture here is sometimes cool. Most people only get to see a fraction though... It's good to travel with someone who lives here to really see the good places here (and avoid the bad >_>)

Golden Crown Panaderia! It's amazing cuisine, and apparently the food guy from Dives, Diners, and Drive-Ins was there once haha
