Bigtime Dune lover. Great job. Although I am partial to the 1984 film's overall look (forget the butchering of the story), and enjoyed the SciFi Channel's attempt to stay faithful to the story (but hated the look of it)... I love seeing other artist's expressions of Herbert's visionary work.
Hat's off to you. I love it.

well... have you noticed that foreground and background lights do not match?

It looks that I always try to find what is wrong

well,

the stock photo of the girl with the scarf is full frontal flash lignt, and the for the desert background, the light is coming from the right of the picture.

i tried to correct this by painting shades on the left side (of the picture... on the right side of her face) on a separate layer and put it to "soft light"... but maybe the effect is not visible enough...

maybe my poor laptop lcd screen betrays me, so i'll try to improve the shading
