Few updates to this refined it a little more.Also this isn't traced it's referenced from a screenshot. Really don't understand groups on da's weird rules about not allowing anything referenced from a manga or anime. If you put your own style on it and make it obviously different from the original it's really not copying.
I'm not trying to claim this is my own original character, It's fan art and I just want to draw him in a typical luffy pose, really shouldn't be such a problem for so many groups. Spent alot of time painting it and adding a mood to the piece so it's annoying to get it rejected by groups or even in one case getting banned from a group.
Sketch of luffy from screencap, gonna paint this but I liked how the sketch came out so thought I'd post it too.
Trying out a different style of painting on this. Using a soft brush to lay down the inital colours in kind of gradients. Then going to use the hard brush to finish it off. This is just with the soft brush at the moment.
Pretty much finished now, updated with a few tweaks and made the face less wide as kidman pointed out.

Cheers, yeah you're probably right there, I'll try and fix it. Always find head shapes hard to draw though, specially luffy he has weird proportions.
