I do not own the photograph, I found it on this SiteThis is what Illinois Central #382 looked like after her famous wreck with Casey Jones.
The #382 was built by the Rogers Locomotive & Machine Works in 1898 for the Illinois Central Railroad and was one of 44 built by the Rogers Locomotive & Machine Works from 1896 - 1898 for the IC (I was also surprised to learn that the L&N had identical machines!).

Did 382 ever get rebuilt with Walschaerts valve gear before it's scrapping in the 1930's?
