harriers that have that lense on the TOP of the nose are NIGHT attack, because that lense is "Forward Looking Infrared" =]]


harriers with the lens in the tip/middle of the nose are day attack, and have ARBS (cant explain that one. not allowed to)

and then ones with NOTHING, are just radar birds =]

Actually, it is neither.

This is a British Harrier II, where the day attack version was called the GR5, and the Night Attack version the GR7.

The ones with radar, the AV-8B+ have FLIR as well, and a slightly stretched nose. They were never used in Britain.
The FLIR is the little bump on top of the nose.

The lens on the tip of the nose is present on all versions of the Harrier II, except for the AV-8B+.

This particular Harrier would be either a GR7 or an upgraded GR9.
Its pretty hard to tell, the differences are all internal, like a more powerful engine.
