Description No, "Natural Harmonia Gropius" is definitely not canon in BPOWW.

Yeah, N's real name is...weird. Also, Gropius sounds vaguely obscene.

And Natural? Yeah. You know how we Westerners often think Japanese and Chinese words and symbols sound cool, regardless of what they really mean? It feels like it was the reverse for the Japanese devs with "Natural."

He's um...naturally gropey. Or naked all the time and gropey. EITHER WAY.

I found out what N's full name is.

It's Natural Harmonia Gropius.

I was had that name I'd use my initial as well lol

"Ahhh." That was my first reaction too.
Did he break his arm or something? D:

He didn't break it; it's just rather sore from the fall.

Oh thank God! I still feel really sorry for him. He was just trying to help that girl's Herdier. and then she overreacted.

Newton's 3rd Law of Emotion
"For every male action, there is a female overreaction." I just remembered that and thought of it just now.

Lame joking aside, this comic is amazing! I can't wait to see it progress!

I love this comic... Bladeface is obviously the best character in it, of course. No, really. I can't wait to see N freak out over Keirsey's relationship with her pokemanz... and freak out over Keirsey's intensity. Let zeh rhomahnce begin!

Is the cooler magical like the bag? Does it hold everything else?

ViolaRae In reply to luckyzen13 [2012-11-19 04:48:11 +0000 UTC]

Keirsey's actually just bringing the cooler over so N doesn't have to sit on the ground.

It may not be magical, but it doubles as a seat.

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that stuck with just "N". I feel so bad for him.

And thank you for not using "Hilda".

I'm thoroughly enjoying this! Keep up the good work!

ViolaRae In reply to Vanase [2012-11-19 04:50:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!!

And yeah, "Hilda" is kind of unfortunate too. It just sounds terribly old-fashioned and frumpy. (I hope nobody reading this is actually named Hilda.)

mugglebornprincess In reply to ViolaRae [2012-11-19 08:25:41 +0000 UTC]

i always imagine "hilda" as some old, fat swedish lady with messy braided pigtails and lederhosen who yells at her kids for tracking snow and mud into the house LOL (so yes, i think of it as a frumpy look too XD)

ViolaRae In reply to mugglebornprincess [2012-11-19 12:33:53 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. It might be an okay name for a valkyrie too.

I took to calling him Nate when I first start running into him in the game. Less...weird...I guess. Somehow, N looks adorable without his hat. Huh. Well done so far on the comic. I look forward to more.

ViolaRae In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-19 04:51:02 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! I think he looks good without his hat too. The pain is just his body telling him to lose the hat. The sun's going down anyway.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to ViolaRae [2012-11-19 06:30:50 +0000 UTC]

I'm just surprised he actually does. Ninety percent of the artists that depict him hatless just give him Zoroark hair and call it good. You took the time to give him believable hat hair without flattening it too much. The story is interesting as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ViolaRae In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-19 12:35:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, I kinda just went off the B&W2 concept art.

Zoroark hair. XD Really?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to ViolaRae [2012-11-19 16:15:50 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's kind of odd. You compare his hair to a Zoroark and they match up way too well. It does add to the theory he is part Pokemon, but it just looks lazy more often than not.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KateVunza In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-19 21:03:32 +0000 UTC]

You mean that N could be descended from a human/Zoroark pairing? That sounds like grounds for divorce right there...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to KateVunza [2012-11-19 21:05:56 +0000 UTC]

Eh, sounds like to me. Could be that N's parents were murdered by Ghetsis and he just glossed that over because I doubt even he could make killing a kid's parents' sound like it was for the greater good. My favorite theory is he is Wally and his Gardevoir's child that got kidnapped or lost. The thought it self makes me laugh.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KateVunza In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-20 00:37:06 +0000 UTC]

My personal theory has been that N is a "child of the forest" as seen in Pokemon Adventures (Yellow and Lance as examples) that can talk to Pokemon. It does seem rather likely that Ghestis killed N's parents and then lied to him about it; that's the kind of thing Ghestis would do.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to KateVunza [2012-11-20 00:43:03 +0000 UTC]

That fits into my own personal theory. Only detail missing in yours that is in mine is that the Zoroark and Darmanitan in the opening credits were his parents' Pokemon who were ordered to protect him. Probably took Ghetsis a few years to find him after that. Hence the able to talk to Pokemon but still being able to interact (with varying degrees of success) to people. My guess is Ghetsis tried to grab N when he was around four to seven. Old enough to kind of fend for himself, but too young to have clear memories of his actual parents.

KateVunza In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-20 01:03:25 +0000 UTC]

Oooh, that makes sense there!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to KateVunza [2012-11-20 05:08:01 +0000 UTC]

Main reason I like it. It sounds logical and keep everybody in character.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KateVunza In reply to Xankas1890 [2012-11-20 21:51:41 +0000 UTC]

The one thing I would add to this is that the Pokemon that raised N must not have understood why their trainers wanted them to run away with N; otherwise, they would most certainly have told N what had happened to his parents. I think that Darminatian and Zorua believed that N's parents had truly abandoned them, and thus told N as much.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Xankas1890 In reply to KateVunza [2012-11-20 21:58:04 +0000 UTC]

They probably were only told to go and protect N and that was all they knew. And since they were separated from N's parents for so long, they couldn't tell him that Ghetsis wasn't really his father. They might have only remembered green hair and that was about it.
