Description My turtle pic for a drawoff. The paper I'm being forced to use is kinda yellow but its the only paper I can find here in glorious Korea. Oh well, it kinda looks cool that way. I worked harder on this than I have any pic for awhile and I still see mistakes now that I've scanned it. Doubt I'd ever be satisfied with it though. Enjoy!

Turtles forever. You might have just inspired me to make my own tribute to the great four. I remembered I used to draw them when I was in grammar school.

Time to start fresh and anew with better skills.

Oh WOW, man! First of all, sorry it took me so long to comment on your stuff! First week of college and all, y'know... Anyway, this pic is amazing. I love it to death! I've been a Ninja Turtles fan since I was all of 3. Also, the NEW Ninja Turtles series is coming to TV soon here. AWESOME. This really reminds me of the old comic; well done.

I got goosebumps when I saw the thumbnail...beautiful work! The yellow paper was somewhat of a blessing...it really enhances the scene and your pencil work.

I've seen it a dozen times now and it still amazes me. You have grown so much as an artist over these past few years. Everything you do impresses me and i'm not just saying that. Excellent pic honey. I told you the yellow paper added somethin to it. Makes it look gritty. I have no doubt that this ones gunna go far in the drawoff.

Awesomework there man. I agree with everyone else about the yellow paper enhancing the effect. Where did you find this draw off listed at PJ? I'm a member there and I never see draw-offs posted anywhere. Of course I'm peob'ly looking in the wrong place. But yeah, this is just really great work.

Woah... I really do like the yellow paper.. It lays a niceeee effect. You have amazing skills with shading and muscles... It's excellent. I've heard that Popular sells good art supplies... THen again, that was when I was in Singapore and Malaysia. Is there a Popular in Korea..?

daemonracer [2003-01-05 08:56:04 +0000 UTC]

impressive!! this is definitely the way the turtles should be... not those multi-colour-Power-Ranger-type of kiddie stuff.

yes, i can see a few inadequacies (not mistakes, as you said. you're never wrong in art ), such as the inconsistency of the lines of the buildings in the background. but the sheer detail of the overall atmosphere totally makes up for it! and it's funny how the foot soldiers kinda look like clones of Scarlet Spider (from that stupid Spider-clone Saga).

ah well...

eastman and laird would be proud of this one.

Have you ever read the original Eastman and Laird comic? This reminds me of it.

Leonardo beheaded Shredder.

And I would think it would be easy to find art supplies in Asia, most of mine comes from there and I live in Montreal. But who cares. It gives a nice duo-tone effect to the pic, I like it.
