Do you look forward to spring?
I've always found it to be bittersweet.
The new spring brings us new nature and joy,
but the former spring has wilted and disappeared
and yet
. . . we remain . . .
The fragile lifespan of this world,
To be greeted anew as seasons come and go,
Are we meant to appreciate the beauty in this world?
Or lament its transience?
How bittersweet Spring is to the immortal . . .
I wanted to pay homage to the first Fairy Vial I created, Spring Carrot (middle). At the time, I wanted to draw what I felt was the true essence of a terrarium, a beautiful moment captured in time. I tried to accomplish the same feeling for Springtime Priestess but on a larger scale. I challenged myself to not hold back, and I drew her with a lot of love. Her vials contain the same bunny but at different spring season and ages. I wanted the right to capture a youthful innocence, while the older one is burdened with realizations of the world. I hope that even if her vials are not animated, you can feel the life and emotion within them.
