Description Coz Pan's Labyrinth/El Laberinto del Fauno is made of awesome. And I know I generally prefer English translations but the name "Pan" doesn't even come into the film, let alone the title. Bleergh.

I would say this is a WIP, but I really can't be bothered to add to it hahaha. I don't like how it came out, it's too messy, but what the hell can ya do eh?

And yes, I did use a ref! Fuck it if I could've drawn him without one ha! [link]

Edit: I'm not gonna discuss whether or not his name is Pan or not anymore haha. Del Toro says he isn't, so I say he isn't. End.

He looks awesome! I didn't notice the Pan thing (I thought it was interpretive) but I think that probably pisses you off in exactly the same way that people calling any horse with wings 'a' Pegasus does me. >.>

Awesome :3.

I guess people in the US are more familiar with Pan than fauns. Del Toro said something like Pan himself is a sexual character, and that isn't what he wanted.

Ah I see. I have more of an idea about fauns then I do about Pan but yeah, if the faun had been a sexual character it would have been worrying to see him getting so close to a kid... possibly. I have no idea how peoples minds work.

Well Fauno is translated as faun which is a lesser type of satyr... and the most famous satyr is Pan... of which an instrument is named after... : x However I think there are a few places that instead of calling it a faun or satyr they could say pan as a race. :3

I'd love to watch the movie if there was a dubbed version... I'd get bad memories of Spanish class if I watch it in it's proper language... I was told it wasn't all that good either... but the details were excellent.

Yeah, I know this, it's just that the faun doesn't introduce himself as being called Pan, he says "I am a faun" and leaves it at that. "Labyrinth of the faun" wouldn't have sounded good as an English title, but it'd at least be a direct translation.

Anyone I would advise you watch it! I thought it was excellant, and it got rated 96% on Rotten Tomatoes (but that's just where I choose to go for movie reviews, it doesn't mean the reviewers on there are right...)
But also I wouldn't want it to be dubbed, personally. The guy who played the faun can't even speak Spanish hahaha (though they didn't use the actor's voice in the end even though he went to the trouble of learning his lins ;_. Uh but I wouldn't want it dubbed because Del Toro obviously chose to do it in Spanish over English because, hey, that's where it's set.

Thanku!
Gaah Del Toro said that the faun is not supposed to be Pan! Which is why I don't like the English title...
Still the DVD box and scene selection call him Pan too.................. ah well. I guess it isn't important.......... I'm just crazy for thinking it matters.
