I just thought this was a representation of Ursula when she still lived in the palace.Β I feel like she was kicked out when she was fairly young anyway.Β Love how diva she looks.

very nice. at first I thought the eel in herhand was some of her hair, so I thought this was what she looked like when she lived in the palace, and her hair got short by her tearing it out. and then she just got very fat.

I'm offended that you think the word 'pretty' and 'thin' are interchangeable, and thereby saying that 'pretty' and 'fat' are mutually exclusive of each other.

I agree with what you're saying, but the artist specifically said she meant prettier as in making her face less scary (she made it much more calm).
I think that at best, making her thin was an artistic choice, and at worst, she can't draw larger women.
She did not imply that large women are unattractive.

Because they are. Fat is both very unhealthy and very unattractive. Morbid obesity even more so. That's life.

I hope you die in pain and alone realising the error of your ways. because YOU are truly an ugly person. Fat OR thin.

So I make an obvious comment about fat being both unhealthy (as in, it's bad for you, proven fact) and unattractive, for which you hope I "die in pain and alone".
And I'M the ugly person?
Do yourself a favor, lay off the junk food and exercise more. You'll feel a lot better.

One: how do you know what size I am?
Two: I don't eat junk food.
Three: You are just a superficial Bag of Dicks and your opinion is worth less than shit. Because at least something GOOD can grow out of shit.

DarthMcBob In reply to Derpy-Hoovesbeck [2014-07-03 02:41:22 +0000 UTC]
One: Easy. I have yet to see anyone not the size of a beached whale trying to convince others that hideous rolls of fat are attractive.
Two: I don't believe you.
Three: You are a self-loathing, fat slob without even the integrity to admit that you're unattractive because you eat too much, much less the self-discipline to actually do anything about it.
You are fat because you eat more calories than you burn. It's not magic. Eat fewer calories, burn more, some combination of the two, or else accept your status as an unattractive land whale. Like everything worth having, attractiveness requires hard work and upkeep. The fact that you don't tells me you are a lazy glutton looking to make excuses for your behavior rather than go to the effort of making a change.

....you probably haven't even seen the person you're arguing with in person, so you just look like an asshole now.
I personally think that there's always a health aspect to look at with weight, but not everyone's bodies are built the same.
One person's "skinny" could be another person's "fat". And "skinny" isn't necessarily synonymous with healthy. Being severely underweight is also something that could lead to health complications, and lets not forget eating disorders and shit.
Your definition of "healthy" may not match up with another person's. There's no need to be a complete ass to someone you've never even seen.....

That sort of mentality is very damaging and hurtful.
Ursula wasn't dissatisfied with her body, no one else should be either. She may be a villain, but she was beautiful representation (and beautiful in general) for fat women who are constantly told that their bodies aren't good enough.
the art is gorgeous, but Ursula was always perfect. She doesn't need to be changed.

I think you mis-read what i wrote.
I was ALSO saying that ursula was fine the way she was (fat) and NO ONE has the right to say she is 'prettier' only because she was made skinny in this representation. its damned insulting.

justonceuponatime In reply to Derpy-Hoovesbeck [2014-04-23 19:41:51 +0000 UTC]
That's EXACTLY what i'm saying. I agree with you completely. My previous comment was talking about how unnecessary and harmful it is to change an (already beautiful) fat woman into a skinny woman and say she's better that way.

Haha. I'm writing a Disney fanfic based in reality, and I wrote another character pondering about what Ursula would have once looked like and this is exactly the image I had in mind. I couldn't stop sniggering to myself when I saw it. I'm pretty sure my roommate thought I was mad as a hatter.
I love this so much though, she's one of my favorite Disney villains. So beautiful!

maybe this could ursula when she was younger? lol. you know, BEFORE she gained all that weight. (. . .o.o hope that wasn't too offensive. . .) but yeah maybe this is what she looked like back when she lived in the palace. (i believe she mentioned that she lived there before she was banished.)

There is no before. In the movie she said that while she was in the palace they had real feasts. Now she is wasted away to almost nothing so she was gigantic. I still like the picture though

well yes but there's still the fact that she actually LIVED in the palace at some point, even if they don't mention for how long. AND actually if you listen closely to one of ariel's parts in the broadway (i believe it's when she talking to flatsom and jetsom aka ursula's eels.) she says, "aunt ursuela" Β
