I've seen this two other times, radiation and anthrax (very deadly) and the test "volunteers" died (just ask Dr. Thrax or soviet nuclear scientists), but this is a scientific breakthrough

On the plus side it'll be very easy for you to go through doors and cracked walls (though that hammer is going to be a problem...)
On the other hand, better stay away from slopped hills, vents and very cold/hot places.

...therefore you might be able to control water, thus controling one of the most valuable resources.
You might be able to control mass amounts of water in liquid form, control the clouds (or weather) in gas form...
not too sure about solid form though.
