Description Kind of sad about the water effect blurring all the details, but I think it adds atmosphere nonetheless.

Edit II: Lightened it a bit.

Again, I should be doing homework.....

I think this really captures Medusa in a way that many stories don't.

She got a really raw deal from Athena, who cursed her into a terrifying hell beast that would turn anyone who looked into her eyes into stone. She was beautiful once, and I can only imagine that the isolation and the loneliness would've made her terribly sad. You really captured that.

And even Athena's curse didn't take all her beauty, so there's still the reminder there of what she was. Of what she lost

Makes you want to give her a big hug and tell her everything will be fine, despite the poisonous snake hair and turn to stone gaze, doesn't it?

Thanks for the detailed comment! I agree with your analysis - Medusa had a lot to be angry about, and when she wasn't angry, reminiscing probably didn't help her mood.

I simply can't believe this has only 17 favourites! That's outrageous! Expect a feature in my journal soon.

This version does look like she's under water. It makes it look more interesting like this.
The snakes do look beautiful. Though the one on the right looks like it's biting to other one. ;u;
Still very great~

Haha, thanks. I was just relieved they looked like snakes, but I'll keep the whole composition in mind next time.

She looks like she's under water, but the snakes look more like desert snakes to me. Reflection?

I have no idea. Maybe like Galadriel's mirror (if that's too geeky for you, don't mind me). If it happened to be a reflection, then this would be Medusa's last moment alive, wouldn't it? Hmm.

Dear Galby,
You have to admit she has a reason to be depressed. :/
