Edit III: Adjusted the eye on the right. SO much better! (Easier to appreciate if you had the before and after, I think.)

Laying down solid colors first really works. It's harder, but it's worth it. The colors are much brighter and nicer.

Lots of references used, including the title bird (first seen in the Museum of Natural History). Also used a reference of Gong Li but changed it so much that you can't really tell.
I can upload a "progression" if anyone's interested. :>

It is a little, but your style is so beautiful, your painting skills are excellent! if it was all "perfect" it wouldn't be the same I like it the way it is!
