Description Waiting in the barracks,
For my next mission,
Everyone is still, baited breath,
If you care to listen.

You are no different from the others,
Most of us have family, wives and mothers.
But there’s always something special about you,
If we’re lost, you appear, and we know what to do.

When we wonder if this is worth it,
Don’t know what we’re fighting for.
You come over the horizon my friend,
With the wisdom we can’t ignore.

“These people need us here,
To protect and free them,
How would you feel,
If your children grew up in prison?”

If we go down,
We go down fighting you said,
With your confidence and heart,
We all push ahead.

Left right left,
All in a line,
Brothers at the front of me,
And friends behind.

Bang bang bang,
Bullets soar over head,
Fire in our hearts,
Seeing nothing but red.

If we go down,
We’ll go down fighting my friend,
And that’s just what you did
When the end became the end.

Sorry about your dad's friend. It's a really sweet poem though.
