This is a mixed media piece using watercolour, pencil colour, and fine liner. I finished this quite quickly a few weeks ago just before I went away.ΒRelated content

I really like this piece.
The movement created both by the hair and the bird's neck is really nice and the composition intrigues the viewer from the start. The colors also create a great balance: the face as a mirror to the bird, the background linked more to the hair, and the blue from the eye echoing also in the hair. The white creates really great contrast. The background is sober but with details, really emphasizing the portrait. Her face is maybe a little bit too hidden to my liking, my eyes are "searching" wether the eye on the right is rightly placed... I also like the difference in textures between the face and the bird, we can really see the difference in technique used. Finally the lightning and shadows are very well done!

I really like the feel of this one. It's a captivating piece! I can't seem to stop staring at it for long.

Beautiful traditional work! A nice warm illustration and it's very expressive. The girl turned out beautiful an so did her colouring and the contrast between her blushing complexion as well as the redness of the flamingo are nicely balanced wen contrasted against the white spaces!
Also the black outline work is amazing and how you depicted the thickness and thinness of the black outline is beautiful, works well with the illustration and is elegant

HUGE fan of your work, but I can see the speed in which this one was completed.Β Your command of your medium(s) is something to envy.Β What really draws me to your pieces is the emotions and/or personalities or your subjects. The subjects here seem a little disjointed to me.Β Β This is in NO way a criticism of your vast skill.Β I just like it when I look into your pieces and get a definate sense of what your subjects are thinking or feeling.

Yes, I totally understand what you mean here; I was hoping for the lady to have a bit more of a glamour and sadness about her, which didn't fully come off.
