Wow. I'm not even a christian but this is GREAT work. It reminds me of the saint's icons in greek orthodox churches (I should know, my grandpa is a priest...)!

You're welcome my friend! May I suggest that you draw some things inspired from other religions, too? I believe your style and ideas would have really interesting results. Things like budhism, paganism, etc since those are not frequently represented in the arts (at least as far as I know- I'm no art expert you see!).

many religions and cultures often speak about the same, but in a different form.
But I'm not ecumenist!) I'm Orthodox..
I just chose the language of the image(through realism), which would have been understandable to everyone and based on those historical heritage, which was in Russian culture. Orthodoxy, ancient Russian paganism, myths, tales and legends. All of this is the Linguistic Picture of the World. It all flows in our blood and probably somehow connected with other cultures.. I assume)

you know, I can actually understand what you say through the folk lore and christianity in greece, which is very interesting.
I also like the fact that you used the word "realism". I couldn't help but note that St. George's armor in your painting looks like somewhat late roman/early byzantine, which is around the time that St. george lived as far as I remember from school lessons.

I tried to make this hero to corresponded to the time and studied the costumes of this period (abt 3 - 4th century). I am very pleased that you're noticed.
I try to treat the historical authenticity with trepidation.
though, I'm sure the real experts will find that in my work's to needs to be clarified. By the way .. stirrups at this time have not yet appeared in wide use. It was a revelation for me))

Очень выразительная и образная работа. Черный нимб необычен, но очень уместен - сразу видно, что это не простой змей. Крест Константина Великого - монограмма Христа - на сбруе также очень к месту - воистину, "сим победиши".
