Nice feel to the shape of the armor, not too sharp or rough, very stealth like.
would make a wicked video game boss!
the hands are slightly off, but otherwise very nicely done!

uber art skillz indeed. i like the design and i like it's hyper-thought-out functionality, with medpacks and pockets and what not. that alone adds a weird believability about crazy scifi armor. loves it.
oh and i love the old school eraser dodge. you don't see a lot of that anymore.

Incredible detail on this!! 8D I seriously don't see anything that can be fixed or whatnot. It looks amazing! And I agree with the above comment; you did very well using the light source.

I dont mean to sound selfish but I am very surprized that you didnt comment on this earlier.
Umm... the other arm looks awfuly stiff. I was originaly going to have him holding a rifle but that didnt work out so well in teh sketch phase so I might do another drawing of this guy some time later this year. The light source issue is giveing me some thing new to consider; If used properly then one can make quite a few interesting effects useing light.

I like your understanding of how light shines off the different parts of the armour (I'm pretty sure I spelt that the australian way...) on your guy, and how u stick to one light source well.

After reading a certain journal from a certain fellow I watch, I realized that I needed to add more lighting in my drawings. This took me 12 hours because I was experimenting so much with it. hmm... Thanks for noticeing!!!

His stance his great, although his hands look a little boring. They should have a different pose. Otherwise great job on everything else.

I never realy intended this to be too interesting. It wa mainly just the design. Next time I draw this guy Ile be sure to give him a much biger gun and a more dynamic action packed pose.

Umm actualy your dead on! I subconciously added Predator type features to this with out even noticeing. Predator and Aliens have to be some of the most artisticly influental movies out there. Even adults notice the similarities with my designs and those movies.
The thing on his left hand is a primative mini plasma caster and the thing on his back is a portable sub-machine gun. The sub-machine gun is basicly a little rectangle that splits apart and forms a gun, thats why you dont realy see any detailed features on it. Other than that, Thanks! I think I got my creativity back at the cost of school grades.

The scratches in the armor looks good but for some reason the armor looks a bit more like rubber slabs than metal. Maybe it's just because of the black parts separating them.

Vladimiravich In reply to AngerOfSouls [2007-05-10 22:11:46 +0000 UTC]
What do you mean by the "black parts Seperateing them. Are you refering to the undercloth, lines or the shadows?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
AngerOfSouls In reply to Vladimiravich [2007-05-12 19:04:56 +0000 UTC]
Undercloth, it looks like rubber with how it is either completely black or white highlights. That makes the metal parts look like gray rubber slabs I think. Try getting a little more variation with the shading in on the undercloth.

Vladimiravich In reply to AngerOfSouls [2007-05-23 20:33:19 +0000 UTC]
I see! Well... the thing is the undercloth technicly "is" a form of plastic. Its a futuristic material called Fiberplastic. It is also weaved with carbon nano fibers and various other protective materials. But if its fiber plastic then I guess that it wouldnt have that many wrinkles.
But thanks for the insight. Ile think about it next time I draw another armor design.

He wont as long as the guy inside takes good care of the suit. Who would want squeeky hindges when there out fighting in an urban battle feild.

Maybe he can work on a manly-scented lubricant, or a deodorant that's cuts down on oxides?

Vladimiravich In reply to avancna [2007-05-10 22:21:25 +0000 UTC]
Out of humarous thoughts, geting serious now. Its true that heavy armored suits with heavy black fiber plastic undercloth would leave the person inside walking in sweat. So the suit has its own mini air conditioning system that consists of thin sealed gell layer on the fore arms, boots, chest and helmit. This gell can be regulated to either be cold or hot depending on the conditions. And if the soldier is wounded then the gell will not ooze and it sticks in place.

Yes, its very similar to the insulation in deep-sea diveing suits, but its made out of a completely different futuristic material.

Yup I did a little studying, a bit of brainstorming and this is what I came up with. Afterwords even more cool ideas came when I got to play STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. I might do a fan art of that game and apply the same techniques that I experimented with in this drawing.
