Description
A picture for a story of a legend...This is to illustrate the story of Thessala and Carinon , the dragoness and the mage who should never even have met. The story was written by my best packmate, *RattytheDevilDog and once I'd read it I couldn't resist drawing this. (hope you like it, Ratty)
These two are the ancestors of one of my mage characters, Meru Kiannon, and in an RP between Kiannon and Ratty's little dragon, Thelonius, the sfory, and thus the picture, were born...

They both look fantastic. I must say that I am particuarly fond of the way you did his face. The white blends perfectly into the rest and looks so natural and seemless. I think it brings some attention to his eyes, as well, which is quite nice. Also, the ears. Squee! I wanna just pet behind them o.o Think they'll mind?

Beautiful. It's so nice to see some Very Obviously Tradtional Art where, like me, you can see the white through the pencil. (They don't let you join Yerk if they can see 'page' apparently...) The colour scheme is unusual and very effective.
I'm struck by her hair and the little sparkling beads in it. And they both have such adoring expressions... And ooh! Furtones! You really are rather good, you know.

I've decided that mixed media is The Way Forward (TM) as you can indeed do fun things with little sparkly jewels that pencil alone will not do.

the use of colours gives the pic a warm effect (and also the look as if it belongs on a quilt or one of them material matts that you hang in the kitchen)

The worst thing about having a slow connection is having to sit and stare at their foreheads while I wait for the rest of the picture to load. :<
Anyway, I love the border on the bottom, and the way her hair seems to sparkle. And the way she's looking at him... It ALL looks so good. <3 Amazing coloring (and anatomy *Shakes fist*).

The sparklies are little dots of white acrylic paint over the coloured pencil base. I should experiment more with mixed media...it can do some really nice things...
