Sorry I haven't posted for a while! This is something I painted up a few nights ago when I couldn't sleep. It seems I'm always drawing when I can't sleep. What if I slept more? Would I draw less?!..!?1/A birthday present for my dear friend, Christine.
It partly symbolises our friendship, and partly symbolises how I see her as a person. The reason this piece makes very little sense is because it's filled with in-jokes. But to sum it up:
I wasn't able to spendmuch time on this, but I like the way it turned out. Looser and brushy...er.

instead of analysing it, which i did first, and ended up with a page of typing on all the incredible details and how it works so well in portraying your idea/concept, i'm just going to say that i love it.

But looking at this reminds me why I aspire to be anywhere near your talent! It's just so creative! I mean, who thinks of a fishbowl and a portrait? An artist, that's who! Seriously, this is mad creative and I appreciate how you keep art alive in my heart.
I love how her actual body is so incredibly detailed and how her hair is so simple, yet so delicate (or elegant? Maybe both!) I think a better word would be simple. It's such a lovely contrast with her body. The texture of her hair pops out more than her hair color, in my opinion. Nevertheless, it's gorgeous.
I enjoyed the cute little toys around her head as well. But I must ask; does it have anything to do with how you met her or how she is? Or, as you said before, since your relationship is quirky, you put 'quirky' items? (I don't know, I'm going crazy with adjectives!)

yeah everything in the picture (from the redhead, to her expression, to the fishbowl, to the things IN the fishbowl) are somehow related to significant parts of our friendship - either literally or figuratively.

good use of brush strokes though the colors are a bit out of balance i think...
great color red though, realy comes to life thanks to that, though i'd add a little more contrast in the hair strokes to make it even better

Even though it's inside jokes I love it! It kinda looks like she is thinking of those random things and the fishbowl is her "thought bubble" But I love how you did it, and the little items in the bowl are amazing, I love the green gummy bear(?) the most!
