Description Captain Millennium, field leader of the Centurions, Victory City's first officially-sanctioned heroes that came about in the years between Silvershade's retirement and the resurgence of the Octagon. Captain Millennium was a veteran of the Great War, during which he befriended John Mensch. The two brilliant men survived the war by creating a gyrojet that allowed them to fly over the trenches and drop bombs accurately behind enemy lines. They took their idea to Victory City and developed it for the police force, eventually streamlining the gyrojet into a gyropack, which was then introduced as the original flight device for the Sky Marshals.

And then sometime before the second war, when Victory City was laid to siege by Rego and the Machina Mafia, Captain Millennium disappeared, presumed lost among the thousands of casualties that day and no one knows how or why.

I love the design of the gyro-pack. It'll give that wonderful WWII fighter jet look while it's in flight.

Absolutely what I was thinking of. I was kind of picturing the nosecone of a P-51 Mustang when I was throwing that together. I'm almost happy with it!

But give it a month and I'll hate it.

I already had a team called the New Centurions! Have you been sneaking into my house to read my notes again?

Yes!

No, I lied. But I see two important things here: 1) New 2) Centurions. My guys are just THE Centurions.

And when it all comes down to it, there's my personal philosophy when it comes to comics: there's room for EVERYTHING! I look at this and I see an opportunity for the New Centurions to cross paths with the Centurions and get into a mad squabble over who gets to keep the name and then NEVER resolve that and NOT team up to defeat a villain they couldn't stop alone. Just have 'em fight, fight again, decide to go two out of three, decide they're all too beat up already, play rock, paper, scissors instead, and the two of us can decide it off the final rock, paper, scissors for real.

Hell, that sounds like so much fun I'll throw the match just so I have to come up with a new name.

Mine is a Black Icarus, Kid Venus (cute teen girl in spacesuit), Tomcat (anthomorphic cat with attitude), Nightmira (think ginger teen vampire), and Yankee Dragon.

Crap, I was gonna go with Tomcat as the kid partner of Alley Cat.

Kid Venus sounds awesome. I got a spacesuit girl coming called Gracie Space. So we're both okay on that one!

The rest of the Centurions are Agent Danger, Doc Zenith (who is done but his legs are HORRIBLE), Spy Scourge (a Spy Smasher riff), Force 10 (a self-multiplier), the Night Angels (maybe) and Nocturne (like a female shadow with mystic powers).

Of course, it's me so that whole roster could get changed by Tuesday.

Neato! Mine is a late 70’s/early 80's team.

My guys are a team that pops up in the years after Silvershade retires, but before he recruits the Knights. They're gonna fit into that diesel punk niche pretty nicely.

God, I love diesel punk.

I love that it's a broad enough genre that it can fit in right after steampunk and still flow all the way across to "modern" style books. I've got MIDNIGHT THEATRE set up as a steampunk past, , raw diesel punk transition, deco punk "modern era" -- the period REVENGE OF THE OCTAGON takes place in -- and then a distant cyberpunk future. Diesel fits that past gap so nicely but there's no genre I can think of that plugs into that mid-future spot.

Unless you call it iPodPunk. MacPunk?

MillenialPunk? Is there NukePunk?

NukePunk ... would that be that Fallout game?

CenturyPunk ... MillenialPunk ... BioPunk gets kicked around more after the BioShock game and I considered exploring that a bit.

I'd never even heard that one till now.

I guess that'd be some of it, though. I'm not quite sure how to define it totally ...
