Gallery | Tumblr | Instagram | Facebook | Twitter Inevitable that some of them start taking longer when incorporating more elements to it.But I was also falling asleep repeatedly...Either way, here's more Neph. First two it was supposed to be representing a tree, but this time I ended up taking more time out to define it. Same with the BG in having sort of a vague location she's above this time.
Question is, why is she smiling and is this really a strong enough branch to hold a small girl? How did she keep her other arm perfectly out of sight? Find out after these messages!

Inktober/Sketchtober/OCtober 2017
Inktober isn't exactly the only one I want to do this time around.
So this year will be a whole lot more freeform than last, but I'll be aiming for a whole lot more activity on here, that's for sure. Look forward to ink, some more finalized sketches and more finished artwork of my characters.
Commissions should also be popping up soon, as I'm close to finished with the remaining two of them.
I'll be updating this on a weekly basis and adding to it as I finish them. Last year's Inktober drawings are at the bott

Not if she can help it, yeah. She's not exactly used to having to understand them, but has learned enough to wear them around populated areas and cities, just due to all the stuff that could potentially be on the ground there.

I have quite liked what you've been doing over the past few days with OC-tober with posing and backgrounds and what not, but with the factory-looking imagery behind Nephryst... it gets me very curious about the world-building situation of the game.

Yeah I guess I haven't exactly put it out there what kind of setting the story is in. The aim is fantasy but with the different main regions being defined by different time periods up to mostly a kind of pre-industrial state in some places. Technology itself doesn't really go much past there, but magic basically is used in place of what some of those things would be powered by.
So in this case, a factory-like area might be operated by people charging a machine that burns coal that was mined by earth magic. Or maybe using boulders crafted into gears and moving turbines. That sort of thing.
Whereas the same process in a region more associated with fire, they'd just be burning the coal directly with fire magic.

I can't tell. Is she about to fall from said tree or is the camera at such an angle that the "factory" behind her looks like it's at an angle?
Also.... that smile worries me for some reason.

I wasn't really all that worried about the perspective, but the reason she'd fall would be more likely that the branch holding her is too small.
And it probably should. More because her eyes are covered, so it's not clear what she's thinking about that's making her do that.

Nice! On top of Nephryst looking awesome, I think you did a really good job on the tree! And that's a neat cityscape or industrial complex further in the background, too! Well done

Thanks! It's been nice figuring out something else to try for each one of these. The tree and BG were sorta the main focus in trying to ground her in a scene and make the background seem further away with some tricks. I feel like it worked well. :>
