Due to the circumstances of his upbringing, although sociable at heart, Vash has become an individual mainly concerned with simply surviving although it may come across as being shy for the most part. He enjoys the company of others and does not hesitate to make friends, however if an opportunity arises that could benefit him in any way, he will undoubtedly take it, regardless of the effect it may have on others around him. He possesses childish mischief and curiousity and despite his need for self preservation, a general disregard for authority.

- Electrolocation : Vash can sense bioelectrical fields generated by organisms to detect and navigate. The ability can be amplified by actively generating his own fields and detecting disruptions. Generated fields are harmless.

Demon Form:

Being completely blind, the electric variant of the species relies on electrolocation to navigate and create a mental image of their surroundings as well as advanced hearing capabilities. Sensory nerves that specialise in receiving electric signals are located in bony plate that covers the face and in the plumes at the back of the head/neck and end of the tail. The plumes are comprised of generally free-floating nerves and various neurons that generate and conduct electricity and can be retracted or extended. Younger demons are only capable of gliding short distances, where their older counterparts are capable of sustained flight depending on their age, as wingspan increases exponentially. Rather than being feathered, the species’ wings are made of a durable, skin-like membrane. The subject is currently a juvenile specimen, roughly the size of an adult lion.

Background:

Born in North America around the Great Lakes area, Vash spent the majority of his life with a mother and a couple of his siblings. However, over time, the increase of humans and their use of weapons led to the gradual decrease in numbers of his brood, leaving him alone with just one other sibling. Together, they hunted the best they could for demons so young, but lacking the proper skills and experience, they began making trips into nearby towns and residential areas, making off with pets, livestock and other bits of food that they could scavenge. Driven by desperation and starvation, they finally snatched a human off of the street and were subsequently caught by the authorities after the ensuing hunt that the townsfolk conducted. Taken into a series of labs, they were split up to be used for experiments and research with Vash eventually ending up at the island DEVIL facility.

He never expected to get noticed, much less caught; but snatching a human off the street probably wasn’t the most inconspicuous thing he could’ve done, not that he really regretted it. What he did regret, though, was not splitting up the moment he heard them coming through the trees with their guns and harsh voices as if they were trying to be noticed. Obviously the noise hadn’t given him any advantage anyway, considering that he was sitting in a cell right about now. Although not the most comfortable place to be, it sure was nicer than having his skin scraped at and all the sorts of needles going in and out of him; hell, he hadn’t even been awake for most of it anyway, and certainly not for the transfer over to the island. Apparently, the scientists that were working on documenting him didn’t appreciate it all too much the first time he shocked them, and made sure he didn’t have the opportunity to do it again. Rude.

Slowly rousing from a drug induced sleep, he took a moment to gather himself before beginning to collect information about his surroundings. What the hell. He was still in a building, judging by the walls around him, and by what he could hear around him, although considerably muffled, he wasn’t the only one. There were sounds of frustration and desperation around him, things scratching at the walls or throwing themselves into them, some crying, and others screeching. Maybe it was better to be unconscious, because not too soon after taking in what information he could, he joined them in their impatience, his own nervous pacing and clawing blending in to the cacophony, waiting for what would happen next when morning came.
