Description A picture I did for an activity I found interesting.

She's Coatlicue, an aztec goddess.The word "coatlicue" is nahuatl for "the one with the skirt of snakes".

Most Aztec artistic representations of this goddess emphasize her deadly side, because Earth, as well as loving mother, is the insatiable monster that consumes everything that lives. She represents the devouring mother, in whom both the womb and the grave exist.

What a wonderfully expressed view of the look at the universe through both the eyes of the Aztec culture as well as the fabulous artists feel for that spiritual view. This is a very refreshing insight to the sense that others have on things. The dark side of "Mother" of the all consuming womb. So many other peoples around the world place so much emphasis on her as the bearer and bringer of life, i love this focus on how she as a divinity is also inclined to take us out. Mom the Monster is usually only an aspect that you see in strange made for tv american movies and not the basic tenants of an ancient religion. i quite like! Also very interesting how in contact to a Medusa, say, she has a skirt rather than a headdress of serpents. i find that very telling. As i gaze upon your new World Gorgon with her one empty, ebony endlessly deep eye, and one that is blazing like 67 seven, all a-glow, while fondling the individual threads that comprise ever skirt, i think i would not be foolish enough to inquire of Mom if we could have a look under her kilts.

me encantan todas las representaciones de los dioses, pero ciento que lo hiciste muy agresivo o impactante, las serpientes son tiernas (cuando las respetas y las tienes en la mano) checa estas referencias [link] [link] [link] [link] no les des mala fama ;n;
