As much as I love the show, I honestly have only watched 2 episodes and a few clips here and there.

well the episode with zecora was a prime example of the difference between high and low magick, when twilight was describing the differences between zecora's and her brand of magic the description seemed ripped clean out of a grimoire that I have that discusses the topic, the difference between these forms is that high magick is practiced by priests and priestesses and usually is used in ceremony and prayer and the power seems to come from a divine source and seeing as twilight is the student of princess celestia one could argue that she is a priestess of her in some way or another, when it comes to zecora however, she uses herbs, incantations and earthly magic to create remedies, potions and other such things associated with healing and such, essentially a folk healer of sorts, these healers were more accessible in ancient times and through parts of the middle ages until the witch hunts started and many of these folk healers were burned at the stake forcing them underground and those who survived were driven out of need for by the rise of modern medicine but they are still around if one knows where to look

Zecora sounds more like a Wiccan... same with TS.
The power of magick comes from within; not some 'other being' or cheap herbs/wands etc.
But I see the metaphor here...

yes you are right, I am wiccan myself which is what made me notice the similarity, they also did a good job in that episode of showing the real problem of persecution even to this day with everyone saying that zecora is not a good pony but it turns out to be wildly wrong, and you are right, magick does come from within, they just have good qualities for healing and such, which is what drew me to the conclusion that Zecora was something of a folk healer. are you wiccan yourself?

I do think of being called a satanist is an insult, I mean I nearly got fired over it, and the fact that a lot of satanists have it in for wiccans and pagans enough to kill us!

We don't "have it in" to kill Wiccans or Pagans... that's just absurd.
Wicca may be simply a branch of an enemy program, but the people in it are usually still gentile.
Paganism is actually the original title of Satanism... so it makes absolutely no sense at all that we would want to kill our fellow brothers and sisters.
