*whew* this took forever....anywho, this was a request from a friend of mine... I'm sure he's happy to see it finally done... and i really like my background here.... just need to work on the characters a bit more...
I'm really proud of my water lol x3 though, i did ask for critiques... I'm interested to know what i can still improve on....
Time: i have no idea..

The effect and the background are of the most great, the pespective of the drawing are simply great and very nice, the color and the scene wow increible, is one drawing of the most precious and tender.

Hahaha, you're BG skills kick so much arse xD What do you cover your pic with? Cuz for some reason, on all of your digitialized picks, they seem clouded a bit instead of clear like mine. Do you use airbrushing or a filter or something?
And I see you already know about the whole perspective issue

lol x3 I do love making Bgs x3 but it's uber time consuming... and lots of little details... hence the reason I've never done a city theme lol x3
anywho, as far as the cloudy effect.. it's a combination of a bunch of random layers... what i do is when the picture is completely done, i add in a few adjustment layers to make it look more like i did it traditionally... like i add a pattern across the whole thing then blend it with the picture... then i add in a basic gradient and make that effect the picture to the light source stands out.... I also do random things with the cloud generator... if you want more info, i can give you specific details in a note....
anywho, the perspective ALWYAYS gets me... i suck at perspective... and i know it... I've been trying to get better at it.. but it's just so epically hard... and i have a hard time thinking of bending things and such... and then i over-bend them and whatnot... gah... anyways.. the main problem with this one is that i drew the characters separate from the background... taht threw things off quickly....
anyways, thanks! I'm glad we each are still on here to help each other out and such, i just wish i could be on more often... as of now, i can only be on like once a week....

I still need to practice BG's xDD But I see. OMG FILTER ABUSE IS FUN lmao...but I haven't played with effects like that for a while. I tend to brush in most of the effects with airbrush and stuff (maybe some color dodge mode?) .
PERSPECTIVE IS ANNOYING xD I'm still trying to get forshortening down, so yeah, I gess everyone needs a bit of help?

I love it, but I think you need to work on perspective a bit. The background looks like wallpaper, and the angle the characters are sitting/laying is a bit too extreme. It looks like they're clinging to the grass to keep themselves from falling off a fully vertical background...which is funny, if you think about it XD

hmm you are totally right... i noticed that problem when i was originally drawing it too.. but honestly i suck at perspective... lol i don't think i even attempted to properly do perspective on this one... but thanks for telling me... i do need to remember to give perspective more thought whenever i draw... i tend to fail at it lol x3
anywho, thanks for the advice! I'm very happy to have someone looking for ways i can improve... cause i don't really have anyone else doing that right now....
lol but ya, with the way it looks, they could almost fall off the face of the picture lol x3 (that might make for a really funny follow up picture x3)
