Yeah, it takes a hell of a long time to get everything. e.e; I started from the very beginning too and forced myself to go through the intermission along with my irritating curiosity for the trolls.
Also I had to reread it again because I skipped a lot of pesterlogs.

Man, I starting reading Homestuck serious about...a year ago? My friends kept bringing it up and I was like 'whatevs let's try this', and it took me 3 TRIES to get into it.

awww yeah! psssh, this is Princess's reaction to Homestuck totally. Psycho (me) was on board right away, understanding everything and becoming totally obsessed. Princess though, only just started reading it and she has no clue what's going on, and keeps asking me to explain everything to her and tell her when it gets good.

Hey I'm in the same boat 
I was/am originally a fan of Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name and something like 90% of those fans are also fans of Homestuck, so I had been hearing about it for a while... and then I asked someone what it was and they directed me to the site... and of course I hadn't a clue what I was looking at, so I clicked the "new readers" link... which recommended that I read Problem Sleuth first, so I read about 75% of that, and then I got busy and forgot about the site entirely for months and months and months until about a week and a half ago when my brain dredged it up for absolutely no reason at all and I got hooked 
...and that is the glorious story of how I found Homestuck

I actually got involved in a medical study for over 2 weeks where I tried to read homestuck. 1000+ pages later I couldn't continue- Problem Sleuth at least followed the same storyline, Homestuck by that point had gone off into 5 different directions, at least.
